Death or glory for the Bulldogs?

    From today's Age.

    Dogs refuse to kick themselves

Death or glory, throwing caution to the breeze...sounds like they believe Plan A won't work, so it's time to try the high-risk approach. Or are they just trying to play a few mind games?

Probably best if we stick to our game plan this week and let them make as many mistakes as possible.

I really really want to beat the Dogs, in some way I'd be elated with this season if we can make a Prelim Final given the bad run of injuries we've had and still got. A GF would be a dream come true but a PF is very satisfying.

I hope me being there for rare appearance at a game doesn't jinx the result.

Well, as The Clash sang, "death or glory becomes just another story." So, to quote another punk band, Los Angeles' X (perhaps one of the greatest bands ever to walk the earth), "we're desperate; get used to it". The Bulldogs are desperate and will throw whatever's left od their devastated season at us. But as we learned during WWII, a few kamikaze planes might sinka ship or two, but the victory of the enemy became apparent. Let us think of Bradshaw as Hiroshima, and McGlynn as Nagasaki.

... I can't count how many metaphors I've just mangled.

That's the spirit Yuri. If the Swans can do half the damage to the Dogs that you've done to the language they will cruise through.

I'm heartened that Bullldogs are slight favourites - 1.85 vs Swans 1.90 at Sportsbet. I hate being favourite.

Football plays havoc with my usually very logical mind. I'm thrilled we're no longer favourites at the same time as being really, really peed off that we are no longer favourites!
                        Know what I mean?

chill everybody - this game will be tough. We had a hard body game last week. Bulldogs will bounce back. I expect a hard game.
