    The Bunyip Legend

One good thing about being in the last six teams left is more newspaper inches to write about Swans. This is another good-un - and complete with a great picture!

I confess to being a bit startled when I read "The Bunyip Legend - started by Liz".
I chuckled at the notion of Mummy as house captain straightening out Cambo, Young Lewis and Uncle Byron.
He cultivated hidden talents. In Sydney, he is house mother - he prefers house captain - to the other three, teaching them how to cook and clean. ''That's been a bit of an eye-opener for me,'' he said. ''Trying to keep the house in order. The boys leave things lying around. I like things to be nice and clean and tidy. But it's all worked out.''
I imagine it would be worked out pretty smartly!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Clean up or I'll tackle you!

Have to love the pleasure he takes in being part of the team, we have some really good kids (and bigger kids)

          Bless.
          The House Mummy!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

"''I found out I could go out and have a good time without drinking,'' he said." Smart fellow!

Gotta love the Mummy Very nice work by the recruiting department on this one, and he's really turned out to be a bit of a bargain in the end!

My grandparents lived in Bunyip, although they're long gone. Still remember as a wee'un going down to the ground occasionally to watch a game. They had Footscray jumpers - probably still do.

LOVE the mummy. His last quarter agst Freo, and even last week - when he was beaten for most of the day - probably got us home.

Once again the recruiters have found someone whose attitude to life enhances our team philosophy. I love it when a great player is also shown to be a great bloke.

Har, yes, I'm picturing him standing there in a frilly apron over his Swans robe, waving a (not wooden) spoon, hulking over his housemates and lecturing them ("the table's a mess! Who's turn was it to do the dishes? Do we live in a barn??").

Also, how cool that there's a town named Bunyip. I love Australia.

Bunyip is joined by many amazing aussie place names, amongst them Frying Pan, Sugarloaf, Tinderbox and Flowerpot, but I digress, your description of Mummy is only missing the football under one arm

If I had one qualm about Mummy it was how much upside there was to him - he seems to be playing at about 100% of his potential. It's good to hear him say he thinks there is plenty of improvement yet to come.

                          Great article, thanks Liz.

An off-topic question: who's that behind Mummy in that photo, with the Angel and star tattoo?

That was my first guess, but someone here will know for sure.
