Yes it hurts tonight....but thank you Swannies for a great season!

Tears flowed here after the game. Thank you Roosey and Krik for an inspirational career and all you have both done for this marvellous club.

In a season that not many of us expected finals at the beginning has resulted in a semi final appearance. This despite key injuries to key players.

Thank you Swannies for a great 2010!

    Roll on 2011!
    Swannies for life!

We got further than we thought - better than the bastards ever say we would - god/dess/es/Elvis bless the mighty Sydney Swans. Next year in MCGerusalem.

All in all the season played out well to a large degree (a top six finish is a good result, but more than that it was a big improvement on last year) - but all things being where they stood tonight, we should have won - and that is disappointing.

I also don't think that what happened this year necessarily makes next year I likely higher finish - anything could happen - new coach, new ideas - will they be better, will the players respond? Who knows, but I think I will be metaphorically holding my breath till season 2011 unfolds.

If, before the season started, someone had offered me losing by 5pts to the Dogs in week 2 of the finals having finished 5th with 13 wins, I'd have snapped it up without hesitation. 2010 exceeded my wildest dreams in terms of performance, blooding and development of youngsters and creating genuine excitement and cause for optimism that we are on the way up again.

Unfortunately, the 5pt loss to the Dogs came after leading by 5 goals in the 2nd quarter which leaves a strong air of disappointment over the finish to the season, but overall, I'm still a happy Swans supporter.

              Roll on 2011!!!

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Basically second what Mike said. This year definitely exceeded my expectations from the start of the year. The thing to also look at is a lot of the youngsters hadn't played finals football before, so it's going to be good in terms of development for the years to come.

Agree too. We were never going to win the GF so playing two weeks of finals was a bonus. I think next year's team could achieve great things.

look at the season as a whole, i think we done really well, got some games into the yngsters, i think more would have played except we did better than we thoguht we would....
Like everyone else we should have won that game tonight, but not to be....i like what i see into the future, i dont think you will notice wholesale changes in the way we play as Longy been there a while with Roosy, maybe some tweaking here and there...as long as the culture holds true i am looking forward to next year, but we need a little more quality deep in defence and again in the midfield...

Thanks to Roosy for giving us a premiership, time and time again i heard many people on here complain about him, but his record at the club speaks for itself..
To Kirky thanks for the memories...i did an afl junior recruting day with him in sydney's west way back in around 01-02 and he was awesome on the day....

Aside from that i think give another 1-2 years and we will be pushing for premierhsips again, we haven't got the experience right now to beat the like of the cats and pies, but we will....
Have faith blood brothers and sisters.......

Thanks Roosy and Kirky for the memories you both have given us. My 2005 memory springs to mind! Wouldn't have done it without them. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.
I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"

I have crazy thoughts that haven't settled. Part of me thinks we should have won and be playing a prelim next week. Part of me thinks we shouldn't have made the finals and have done well.

But the overwhelming part of me just feels the hope for the future. I hope we have got what I think we have because there is a core group that is going to be a force for the next 5-6 years. There are the ones we've seen in the seniors but add a few who are running around in the ressies and our future looks good for next year and its into the next decade.

The other thoughts are for Kirky and Roosy champions of our club and though there presence may be different I'm pretty sure some stuff these guys have started will live for a while yet

Definitly mixed emotions tonight, proud of the team for exceeding most pre season expectations, but being in a position where they were looking at a Prelim Final.
On the positive the new talent coming through points to a bright 2011.

Part of the pain is realising how long it's going to be before we get to watch Swans play again.

                              The horror. The horror.
