    Mc Hack is back

He was the one who really made me angry tonight. Soft as butter and indecisive. Really pathetic in both finals. If it wasn't for Pykie he wouldn't get a possession.

    McVeigh ? Aka Bomber?
He was patient when he needed to be and quicker when that was required.
And if it wasn't form him , Pyke's posessions wouldn't get turned into kicks !

      Agreed.

Bad game from McVeigh, was in serious need of some clean hands.

wow your preconceived notions of mcveigh really have biased your interpretation of the game.

He wasnt at his best today but last week he was one of our best. Plus i suspect he has been playing with injury for most of the year.
Very importnt part of our midfield and a very hard worker.

        McHack he is not!

Every time he got a possesion he was trying to slow things down and find clever options. It didn't work..

I don't like the term 'McHack' at all - do we really need to label any of our players that way?

As far as our overall team is concerned, he is one of our best players. However, if another team wanted to offer us something special for him (and he was happy to go) it might be worth having a look come trade week.

True, most games McVeigh is amongst the best. But he lacked clean hands tonight.

Jarred Mc Veigh was not our worst & I think that he has definitely been playing under duress in the latter part of the season . He got what they said was a corkie about round 16 & hasn't been the same since. Lost some pace & agility. But one thing I noticed about him is his ability to do something very brilliant when you need him but unfortunately tonight the ball didn't bounce his way.

Geez... have I missed something here? The lad has played a couple of below par games and some are thinking about the possibility of trading him off...... knee jerk reaction much?

I must admit I'm not one of his greatest fans, it's clear that he plays a strong part within the leadership group, I wouldn't be surprised if he is named our next captain from midfield. As has been said earlier, he certainly is capable of producing brilliant moments when we've needed and keeps a cool head when under pressure (although this may not have been the case yesterday).

He wouldn't recognise a contested possession if it bit him on the ass. It was like "You boys get the ball to me and I'll think about something brilliant to do with it. Whoops that didn't work."

i can just imagine 18 players all diving for the "contested possession" and no outside runners.there is a game plan and a thing called team balance.all players have a job to do and i am sure those on rwo have no idea what it is.pleased you apologised it was way over the top

I don't subscribe to the injury line. He moved alright last night to me but really lacks any explosive pace. I think he has reached his level and Aardvark was spot on with his indecisive comment. He took an eternity to kick the ball in the dying moments of the game and took the short option instead of trying to win the game with a long kick. Gee 28 minutes in and you would reckon we were in front.

He lacks the ability to play 4 quarters. Brilliant in parts of games but then disappears. Captain material I think not. Yes Kirk has been the so called spiritual leader, but no one last night stood up and took the game by the scruff of the neck when it counted, whereas the Dogs had a number of players who found something.

Another case of scapegoating your own players. He plays well and he plays consistently. he will never be a Kirk but he doesn't deserve the constant denigration he receives. I also object to the use of the term McHack".

I agree with this 100%, some people here seem to think that it's all about everyone being in and under. We need the outside runners to do something constructive once the ball comes out.
