    Veszpa

I wonder what Longmire thinks of Veszpa. I wonder if they want to keep him, and whether he wants to stay. Personally I hope he stays.

Anyone have any thoughts as to why he hasn't made it in the team?

Lack of ability? attitude? or lack of belief from the coaching staff?

There is a fair bit of information/discussion/rumour etc around which suggests that Vespa is his own worst enemy.

But it wouldn't be the first time a kid came into AFL and in his first year played some good footy and then just thought it was going to happen from there.

I think he is good enough to play 200 games. but it will come down to how hard he is willing to work off the training track and off the field as to whether he will ultimately make. I hope so as we would be a better side next year with him in it.

From what I've seen this year, his body isn't doing the things that his mind wants to do. He has lost the explosiveness and power that wowed everyone in his first year which has lessened the impact he has in games. If he can't physically return himself to that level, then perhaps he has to change the way he plays the game.

In addition, if the proposed limited interchange rules come into effect, and from all reports it looks like it will, they will work against 'power' athletes such as Vez as they look more towards endurance athletes.

What about the coaches, do you think they have faith in him? or have they given up on him?

I think only the coaches themselves can answer those sorts of questions.

I agree with Ugg. There has been something about him all year, physically, that hasn't looked right. He is never going to be an athlete in the Reid or Rohan sense but in the previous two seasons he still moved well enough in bursts. This year he just looked restricted, whether it was bending over to pick the ball up cleanly, the ability to create a bit of space in one step, or his leap.

              Trade bait.

He's been on the list for ages and it's hasn't worked.

              He'll go.

It will always be hard for him to break into the team with McGlynn, Moore & TDL. I would like to see him stay and give anothe chance.
