    GAJ- on record

Just out of interest, go on record where you think he'll go. Cats or Suns.

    I say Suns.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Suns. If he stays at the Cats, I'll always wonder what the hell the point was, why would you put everyone (him and his club) through that for a year? Cats offer is great but was never going to match the Suns.

                Suns.

Shame to see it happen though.

                  Suns.

He'll only stay at the Cats if they give him the captaincy, and seeing as they use the "Leading Teams" philosophy I can't see them rewarding clear selfishness. So off he goes to the Suns to be captain of a side and charged with driving it up the ladder.

The Suns are reportedly offering a massive 9.5 million for 5 years. I don't care how many friends you've made, you sign the dotted line and take that cash when you get the chance.

After all, what happens if you get injured and have to retire? $1,900,000 per year for 5 years (though it's probably massively front-ended) sees Gary ride off into retirement a rich man, regardless of when and how it happens.

I'm looking at it in that here he is being given the opportunity to be the very first captain of a brand new club. That kind of opportunity doesnt present itself often. Also take into account, like him or not, he's got the power & the talent to get the bums on seats. So whilst he's still young, he's in terrific form & he's going to be paid a motza, so why not head north!

The Gold Coast Poachers, fo sho.

They're cobbling together a fairly decent list up there, and they're far from finished building it.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

                            SOG to Sun.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
