My first Brownlow night. I actually found it... interesting.

The celebration of the "greatest game of all" was confined only to players and supporters (Hi Tim) from one side.

A good night for the Swans. We polled third highest among teams and of course our great moments are now officially the AFL's great moments.

Judd was almost in tears after the Swans dumped the Blues, according to Twigley. I'll take that, yeah.

Goes to show the Umpires have too much on their plate these days in enforcing the myriad of rule interpretations that they clearly don't have a clue on voting. As much as I hate the Pies, Swan was clearly the best player in the competition this year. Looks to me that the player voted MVP seems to get it right and should be the more prestigious award. The Brownlow seems to be more about the WAGs than the players these days. Also WTF do the Edlesten publicity whores have to do with AFL these days????
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Couldn't find a link with a quick look, but here are the moments:
          1. Leo's mark
          2. Jason McCartney returns to football after Bali
          3. The Miraculous Quarter of St Nick Davis
          4. A toepoke by Matthew Scarlett to tilt the GF in Geelong's favour (what on earth ...?)
          5. Mark Williams chokes one last time and gives Alan Scott a return of serve.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Of course Brownlow is all about the WAGS. Someone said that the footballers are punching above their weights (I think it was Liz Ellis). They weren't too far wrong. No amount of gorgeous WAG is going to make some footballers look better!! (Cameron Ling, I'm looking at you.)

            Wiki: Geoffrey Edelsten

His Wiki page says nothing of him being a hall of famer or past charlie winner ... I can't fathom why he gets invited.

Here's something I didn't know ... his family owned the Edels record stores. OMG I used to LIVE in Edels!!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Meh the WAG's for the most part would struggle for attention if not clinging to the arm of some sports star.

Hanners did well with his 9 Brownlow votes. Only Buckley (14), Pearce (13) and Riewoldt (11) have done better in their "Rising Star" years.

As for the outfit that Brynne thingy changed into - why bother - it bearly covered anything. the Zipper style diamond necklace really took the attention away from her cleavage didnt it???
Ahem! Shouldn't that be "barely"? In both meanings of the word.

As glad as I was that it wasn't shown, I would have thought Daniel Chick's smother in 2006 would out do that for a Grand Final moment anytime. Have to agree it was to ensure Geelong got a moment!

Not to mention the still-visible scar on Pav's cheek. He didn't deserve it or even appear to appreciate it. And apparently turned up to the press conference this morning and didn't know where the medal was. Jackass.
