Pyke improved a lot this season but Seaby is still clearly a better player. Look at his round 2 game against Adelaide, Pyke isn't capable of playing games like that.

On early season form looked good, hope for a better run with injuries next year.

I share Robbo's view. Of course anything might happen over a long pre-season, but at this stage Seaby (when fully fit) has to be considered well ahead of Pyke (even though he did show improvement throughout the year).

Totally agree with Robbo & matty10
Seaby has it all over Pyke.

Simply on the amount of games played, he showed he will benefit from a change of club

Robbo, luckily I didn't send an immediate reply to your post as I may have received a suspension from RWO for a few weeks.

Had a few days to think about it and you are right, Seaby may still be the preferred second ruck in 2011.

In any case, supporting the Sydney Swans does make you go somewhat mad.

By the end of the end season, we'll have a picture of who sits where.
So it is judged relative to that players best not what you would call the league's best.
eg: Teddy's best is no where near Hanners best. So Ted may have his best season ever, score a 9, and still not play as well as Hanners?

That's how I will look at it anyway.

7 for the games he did play.

Was looking the goods until he did his ankle.

With him, Mummy, Pyke and White as a pinch hitter, we'll have the strongest ruck division in the AFL next year.

Poor pet was just finding his feet when he tripped over one of them.

There's absolutely no reason we can't go into season 2011 with three healthy ruckmen. We'll be the envy of all the other clubs.
Versatility is the name of the game. Want a rest from the ruck ... go and play a bit of defence; go and kick a few goals.
All our ruckmen are capable of doing just that.
There's gunna be a catfight for positions.
Gee Annie you are very confusing. Post no.14 you say they should be ranked on the games they played, but in no.15 you gave him a 4, but probably on the games he played probably would have given him a 10!

My 2 bobs worth; for someone like Seaby a poll should not have been put up.

Yeah, I know I'm confusing sometimes (okay - most the time). Annie logic is vastly different from "normal" logic.
He was still "finding his feet" when he tripped over them. As far as I judged his playing up to that time, he'd just started to warm up (hence the 4).

The 10 is a "wish", as in I wish he'd never broken his foot, then we wouldn't be having this conversation!!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

7 - thought he was going to be rubbish.

                        Was dead wrong.
