    Brett Kirk RWO Memorial

I'm thinking of renaming the TLM to BKM??
No disrespect to the Luff man himself.

    A bit disrespectful to Luffy.

    That's a hard decision Scotty.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I think its a natural progression. I am sure Luffy wouldn't mind - some R&Wers wouldn't have even seen Luffy play! Now if it became the Barry Hall Medal that would be another story. But also Kirky would enter into the spirit of things too. Can the medal be a profile of a dog with its head out the window?

Agree with the above and definitely 'dog with its head out of car-window' medal

Agree with Annie. We can have another award named after Kirk, but it's poor form to change the name of an award for reasons that are not extraordinary.

              No change.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Scott ... "memorial" sounds like he's died.
                  He didn't.
                  He just retired.

How about we keep the TLM as it is, but introduce the Brett Kirk Trophy as kind of like a Swans-specific, fan nominated and voted "Selfless/Tough Act of the Year" kind of thing. You could make a trophy out of rusty bent nails artfully hammered into a piece of sandalwood (would sum up Kirky perfectly IMO). Nomination each round, at the end of the year, everybody votes, winner gets the trophy.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

                            TLM is RWO tradition.

Let's just rename RWO "The Kirk".

Yes, something like that. This year it would be a tie between Jude and McGlynn for toughness above and beyond. But also pay other Kirk qualities like leadership, strength of mind, self-discipline, the team's best one-footed player, etc.
