    Goodes stars in International game

    Aussies deny fast-finishing Ireland - AFL.com.au

To be replayed on Foxtel Channel 503 tonight at 7:30pm.

Those without are more than invited to come round to my place. Price of entry is a case of beer, new pair of black or pink thongs and a fluffy koala.

In case you were wondering, the beer is for my inner child.

I'm just wondering what you'll do with a pink thong.

I enjoyed the Irish commentators knowing our players names (and AFL teams) better than the Melbourne press know the Swans. I also liked the way they just Irish-ified them. "Paddy" Dangerfield and Jarrad "Mac Veigh" (two distinct words). And they loved Adam Goodes as much as we do.

I noted that too Kirkari. The courtesy of knowing all of their names and getting them right I found right up there with the first rate good manners.

Isn't that midnight blue strip just the classiest thing you have ever seen! Something about that colour made them all look pretty much, well, handsome.

Anyone else note just how many Swans were playing? Past and Present. Goodsey, Kizza, Macca, Tadgh, Skull...

I agree the commentary was outstanding..........classy, knowledgeable not mate matey.....reminded me of that bloke that does the cycling.

I didn't think Goodes was outstanding but he was good.

Enjoyed the game but missed the first quarter on ch 72 and missed it again on fox. Will have to see if another replay later in the week.
Thanks for the info Bas. Hope next week is definitely a win by the Aussies. Kennelly I felt was best on ground for the Irish.
                Missing the footy.
                Love those Swans

Goodsey was preety decent), Kennelly turned it over a bit, but with how much of the ball he got that's expected! He was everywhere, fitness was at a different level to the rest of his side.

Just watched a bit of it then - geez, doesn't Murphy still look a likely type? Bloody tragic that story didn't work as he just looks made for AFL.

Didn't hear the commentator say that Brendan Murphy was a team-mate of Tadhg, Goodsey, Macca or Jack. Did I miss it?

No GS he didn't. Probably because he didn't make the Swans listed players. Not for want of trying, he just kept breaking....a true coodabeen that one, but probably happy to have his shoulders in tact instead and being back at home. Not Everyone loves living in Australia! Shocking thought of course, but.....

Pretty sure the commentator mentioned him as one of 5 players associated with the Swans on the park at one point, but of course he's no longer listed so he didn't call him a Swan. And yes, I was very keen to see him and was disappointed with what I saw. Disappointed that he kept breaking down, because he looked absolutely tremendous. He looked every bit of his 195cm, but was amongst the quickest out there, and didn't look shy of the rough stuff either. Ah, what could have been!
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

It was mentioned by the commentator that he had a stint in Sydney alongside Tadhg.
