Honestly, I'm not sure I see the benefit of doing so. Outside veterans replace rookie spots, don't they? We've got a pretty good rookie record of late and our picks would be a lot higher than in the ND.

      Goodesy? Vetran?

      Indeed.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Well the latest updated list is out and both Adam and Jude have been listed as outside veterans. This means we have the following vacancies:

        Senior List: 5 places

        Rookies list: 7 places

So I'm guessing that we will be recruiting at least 1 possibly 2 recycled players in the senior list.

2011 club lists as they stand - AFL.com.au

Interesting that we have the same vacancies at the Lions.

Also of interest the dorks have listed 3 NSW scholarship players as rookies. One being Langford jnr. Crows have listed 2 NSW boys on their rookie list.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this yet.

If you are refering to the NSW Scholarship listings, I haven't commented but have been wondering to myself how other interstate teams are managing to put so many from NSW on their lists but we who are based in NSW aren't.

There have been quite a number rookied in the past three years that have subsequently been delisted but I would have thought we had the inside running on these kids but don't appear to have for some reason.

Hawthorn have been very active in grabbing scholarship players although Langford is really a Father-Son but got in via the free scholarship scheme rather than having to burn a ND pick to get him. Collingwood and Adelaide are other clubs that seem to have more in the pipeline than us.

Are the only "successful" graduates of the scheme so far Bird for us and the enigmatic Walker at the Adelaide Cows?

I did notice Nathan Ablett isnt on the GC list anywhere. I wonder if Gary will crack the sads if little bro doesn't get a game?
