Maybe we should all stand on the table and chant "One Captain, one captain"

One captain would be my preferred choice but the multiple captain template hasn't exactly hindered the club since it's inception so I'm not fussed either way.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

        Nah ... it's time for a change.

          Same here Al.
Like I said, I never was a fan of any kind of multiple captains, but I think they have proved to be worthwhile. So I am now happy with this situation.
If they change back, I would hope that they let us know why.

I always thought that the captaincy got split because of course Stuey went down and couldn't be revived, and Baz wasn't going to be your first obvious choice as captain but he sure fitted the bill during the 2005 final series, Craig is a dignified bloke and marshalled the troops at the other end which worked because our defence was not truly fabulous, but united, and Kirky was getting on towards being the father of 4 small children in a club with a growing culture, and just how much can you stretch a bloke. So for the mix we had at that time of need, three was fine. However I would be happy enough with the one Captain, if that's what they choose.

              Wasn't Leo the co-captain in 2005?

Didn't five of them rotate it after Stewie went down, with Hall the lucky one to call the shots on GF day?

Pretty sure it was 6, and they were rotated on a 2 week basis except that Hall's second rotation started with the Qualifying Final and he kept it for the Finals Seriers at the decision of the leadership group.

Can't remember the roster offhand, I'll try to dig it up.

It was all on wikipedia. Interesting to note that Benny M was next in line and would have lifted the Prem. Cup if they had kept the 2 games per rotation policy

The Captain's role in the game is less in modern day football than in the past.He calls the coin toss, then gives the stirring on field rant before the game. Most of his duties are offfield with some organisational duties ,some social duties and some advising duties at selection nights. On field I think it does help if your Captain is courageous, off field it helps if he is a workhorse at training. He should be a role model for younger players to aspire to. In earlier days he was often the onfield coach, sometimes even a playing coach who was given free reign to give a player a spray or a pat on the back. Today the Title is still an incredible honour and one would hope we continue to have some of the finest Captains in the League. One or more??? Who cares! Whatever works best.

Mickey O says McVeigh should be co-captain.

McVeigh an ideal leadership partner at Swans: O'Loughlin
