The new club's colours will also be revealed on Wednesday night. Team GWS played the TAC Cup season in a red, white and blue jumper but there is speculation that it will adopt a completely new combination for 2011 and beyond

Hopefully not something close to our colours, something with green would be good as only the Dockers use that ATM.

Not anymore. They are now only purple and white since the end of the 2010 season. They dropped the green and red (reference to port and starboard) as the jumper and emblem looked too "cluttered" and people identified purple with Freo.

Of the 9 main colours (red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, green, brown, white, black) no one at present wears Orange or Green. GC17 missed their chance to 'do a Freo' and create a colour that identifies the club. GWS can't be so stupid as to make the same mistake.

I personally can't wait for GWS to start up. Hopefully we can unload a few of our more boganish fans. You know, the ones that think ANZ is a good venue. They can go there week in, week out.

Can not believe they kept GWS. Giants is silly and American enough, but 'Greater Western Sydney Giants'?

Like the colours (Black,Orange and White is a good combo as all NRL fans should know) but it's a piss poor name. I voted for the Western Sydney Geese. Geese are in the same family as Swans but are a lot dumber and uglier.
