    2010 Brutal and Best award

The inaugural ceremony of the prestigious BRUTAL AND BEST award (aka as the Jamie Lawson Medal) held last thursday at the glorious surrounds of the smoking lounge at the First and Last hotel, Fawkner.

For those not familiar with this newest and great award, myself and brutal frank from the melbourne cheersquad have each logged votes on each game 3,2,1 style to determine the BRUTAL AND BEST, with double votes awarded in finals.

So without any further suspense the top 5 are

    5TH PLACE - Jude Bolton 17 votes
    4TH PLACE - Dan Hannerbery 21 Votes
    =3RD PLACE - Shane Mumford 33 Votes
    Nick Malceski

WINNER - Kieren Jack 39 Votes

Our heartfelt and most Brutal Congratulations to Kieren on this most prestigious of awards

Excellent initiative...well done..a much needed award and fitting surrounds. Well played

Bevan must have been a past winner with his amazing tackles (was it last year) getting triple points. You know the tackle where he tackled two at once and the one where he was hoizontal and it was amazing. Tough as nails.
And Ted for copping that punctured lung. Jamie would be proud.

McGlynn must have got lots of points for his initial cheekbone tackle and then the playing with it.

Minus a million points for causing Craig Bolton mass injury earlier in the game.

emphasis was on the brutal aspect of the game although i must admit often the best element did win out with the majority of 3 votes

Just watched the first quarter of the Elimination final against Carlton whilst waiting for the Christmas cake to cook.......Mumford stopping Hadley in his tracks and Jack upending Judd..two great moments for your award. This could get bigger than the Luffy

Footy doesn't get any better then that last quarter. The whole team deserved an award for the last qtr effort because we were gone both mentally and physically. To pick themselves up and win the game was truly amazing.
