Funny Al. You just can't argue with logic.

Real Commando (aka really flyin' free!) ... thanks for doing all that exercise for me. I feel so much better.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I've just been Tweeting this morning about these STUPID nonsensical ab exercise machines. Clearly the masses believe that the way to getting great abs is to do a million sit ups each day/buy these ridiculous machines. What they don't seem to realise is that 70% of the results of your work out come from what you put in the hole in the front of your head! That's why they all come with a nutritional DVD, becuase THAT is the way to great abs, not doing sit ups!!

Thanks for that information, I will give it a try. I'm glad you've seen the Foodmatters DVD. It certainly makes you think about what the real truth is and how manipulated we are in terms of health and disease recovery.

Don't worry about Big Al, he's between excorcists !

Hey Big Al, as Billy Connolly pointed out, the 10 years added to your life from healthy eating and exercise come at the end, when you're too old to enjoy them, so why bother?

(Actually, I have recently discovered the answer: so that you don't suffer the pain in your middle age that comes from hours on the computer and many more hours watching TV, including old Swans' matches. Damnit.)

Another tough session for the lads this morning: Squats (most have managed their calculated max weights), Kinkys, Inchworms (mega challenging 8 x 20m), Speed Skaters (over a hurdle), Kettlebell Bottoms Up Press, Bubka's, Banded 2 Handed Swings, Club combo - Alternate Double Crosses and Crucifix Presses. The lads had sweat dripping off them. Bryce and I crack ALL sessions the lads do, with larger weight on the squats obviously (as we don't run around like them!) and this one had me sweating for AGES after!!

Thanks. If there are other things you would like me to add (within reason, and that I don't get my arse smacked at work - ie talking about individuals etc) then let me know.

From those of us who think a squat is just something you do to pick up a dropped footy record without spilling your beer we thank you for the insight into how the boys train.

                  RC,
How do you prevent a player from over training and causing injury??

By close monitoring mate. Every individual has records kept about pretty much EVERY thing he does...including sleep!! There is very little chance we can over train these guys.

Ha! I actually have a funny story about that. Just prior to Xmas, and without thinking I put my Ipod on random shuffle and forgot that some of my wife's music was still on there!! I had Craig Bolton complaining that they wanted a Commando!! I have subsequently ditched ALL her music just in case!!

But in answer to your question my preferred option is rock/metal - Linkin Park/ACDC/Lost Profits are all favourites...after all I'm not in there to 'feel' or 'listen' to the music...I'm in there to make my eyes bleed so I can drink beer without feeling guilty!!

What on earth is a kinky? If it's done as exercise I can't imagine too many players would be looking forward to it.

                          Thanks RC

A couple of the videos posted on the Swans' site pre-Christmas show the Bubkas in practice - I think we got to see Bevan and McNeill both demonstrating. And the commentary confirmed they are named after Sergey.

Thanks for that Liz. That was a good guess on my part and I didn't see the the videos although Sergey is from the same country as my parents. As was Jezza's family. Bit of useless trivia.

So were they jumping or leaping?

                                Neither.

It looks like a variation on a chin-up but a damn sight harder - more like a whole body pull-up so that you end up with your feet above the bar. I imagine it works the abs quite hard, as well as the arms and shoulders. Probably best to go and find the videos because my description is a bit lame.
