Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

7 - hopefully he has a great 2011 so he is not just remembered for all the points he kicked.

I think he has an official record now!! There's no forgetting it till someone else tops it.

The growing anticipation of that first goal and the passion and unbridled happiness (from everyone) after he kicked it was a major highlight of 2010. That's how I'll remember it!!

Upside - Wasn't scared to run and carry utilising his blistering pace. Took opponents on when given the opportunity. Didn't look out of place at AFL level which is good for a 1st year player.

Downside - He was very inefficient with his disposal (not talking just about his scoring conversion rate here). His light frame denied him the opportunity to utilise his pace to make effective tackles.

I really think his 2011 will reflect upon the coaching staff as much as anything. I am looking for improved decision making hence better efficiency. Not sure whether he has bulked up at all in the off-season, but that would help?

Overall, I gave him a 5 in 2010. I'm optimistic that he can show significant improvement and become a favourite for years to come.

Some of his kicking was sublime, indicating he has the requisite skills. I think you've hit the nail on the head by focussing on his decision making. Using that pace effectively on Subi in the WAFL and using it at senior AFL level on the SCG are not the same and he needs time to adjust. Some of the adjustment will also come from team mates / game plan - it has been a while since we've had someone streaming down the wing that quickly, capable of launching penetrating kicks into the forward line. (Maxfield and Williams are the two most recent, though maybe not quite as quick.) As he learns what to do, and others learn to expect what he's going to do, it should all be good for the team.

Was interested to hear Playfair mention Jetta's improvement at stoppage work over the pre-season. We don't want him scrimmaging at the bottom of a pack, but if he can lurk on the outside in the right place to be fed the ball, and then use his pace to scoot away from the packs, that will be very exciting. He did it a few times last year and seemed able to navigate his way through traffic well enough.

Now I gave him a 5. Perhaps I should have made that 6, I haven't had my morning coffee.

Started off the year bright eyed and bushytailed, and confident. With a tendancy to play park footy, and run with the ball without looking for a team mate in a better position, and not converting. That got the thumbs down, but you have to admit that it was exciting. He did however improve this tendancy after he got dropped to ressies for a couple of weeks. After the reality check his "team" awareness improved a lot, and he started to dispose effectively.

Now I feel mean with the 5.....Scott can you change that to 6?

By the end of the season he had learned a lot, he was still a relatively "required" player, and he kicked a few. Watched his work preseason and its very quick, and he and Uncle were working well together. What this means, I have no idea whatsoever, we will see. But work has been done.

I'd give him a 6 as well, has got a lot of room for improvement.

Just out of curiosity from a Victorian supporter what is the likely hood of him returning to WA at the end of this year? I've got an eagles mate over there who keeps telling me they are confident they can lure him back, and I don't know if he is talking @@@@ or not.

Go and tell your budgie loving mate that he's dreaming (and thanks heaps for Seaby!!).
He's got to wait awhile for Jets to go back to Wait Awhile. It's not likely. I'm pretty sure he's signed a three-year contract.
                  Besides, he loves it here.

That's awesome news if he has. I only hear snippets down here, some say Lewis loves Sydney, others say he misses his family and wants to go home. It's hard to know whats going on when you don't really know what to believe

Allright thanks, will do . It's a relief knowing he's more likely to stay, would have been devastated if he left.

As would I. I adopted he and Uncle as my new nephews last year.
My real nephews weren't too happy, but hey, thems the breaks!!

I rated him high because as a first-year player the expectations weren't great. Also in the past week I've re-watched the Essendon, Freo (at Subi) and Carlton games - admittedly not a typical sample - but he was hot in each of those. As well as doing the flashy things, he also should recognised for the hard work he puts in.
