Saw the ad for this last night, looks like it could be a good show.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

That was a really good show - worth watching. A behind-the-scenes look at the junior ranks and some of the things that can stand in the way of young fellas who want to make it as an AFL footballer. I think they understated the talend Chris Yarran had and the high regard he was held in prior to the draft, but it was interesting seeing how he developed into a man. And it was a bit sad to see the other sides of the story as well.

I didn't see it, but listened to it while the wife watched it (I was busy upgrading RWO!!).
          Sounded really good. Very inciteful.

Worth a look for those interested.

            3 interesting stories.

Yarran attributed his success partly due his attendance at Clontarf, where he had leaders guiding him and pushing him along.
Jago had the natural talent, but not the application both on and off the field. There were no second efforts in some of his match footage and his training at the local Tassie club was half-hearted at best. The half-drunk 'coach' on the sidelines was spot on when he labelled Jago 'lazy'. Perhaps if he had better guidance like Yarran, he would have made it. It was sad watching him reminisce looking back at his old footy photos and newspaper clipplings.
Lomas was a very sad story, I think it was going to be hard anyway growing up in Western Sydney to make it, but his personal issues came to the fore at an inopportune time.

Saw a bit of footage of Maxfield, Roos and Longmire at the draft camp and at the draft itself. I think there was a glimpse of Lewis Johnston but I'm not too sure. NicNat was unmistakeable and we also saw Daniel Rich in the footage of the WA U18 team.

It's the ABC website through iView for those that missed it.

Jets was there ... played in a WA match.
I'm pretty sure I saw Hanners as well.

              Top show.
