    2011 Media predictions.

Time for the Media prediction Time Capsule.

First off Shane Crawford in the SHS, has the Swans finishing 9th with 10-11 wins.
But says the could play finals.

mate the media are a joke, as are their predictions. Crawford should stick to what he is good at: dressing up in drag to promote SuperCoach

none of them had us finishing 5th and getting one kick away from a Prelim Final last year did they?

We will finish in the 8 and once again challenge for a top 4 berth.
If the siren sounds in Tasmania, and the umpires don't hear it, does it make a sound?

      From where?

      9th?
As much as I love Crawf, he's a dick.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I predict that most media predictions will be, predictably, incorrect yet again this year in relation to the Swans.

I actually thought it read him thinking 11-13 wins for swans??? I remember thinking at the time he has tipped us to miss the 8 yet with that amount of wins we would most likely make it?

Could be 11-13. I typed it from memory.

So many non-Swans supporters who live outside Sydney have no real idea about the recent achievements of the Swans. And I am talking here about so called 'experts', as well as non-experts. The confusion appears that Sydney is the team that very recently finished 12th (a la 2009); forgetting the team, that if Bradshaw had been match fit in the semi final against the Western Bulldogs last September, would have played St Kilda for a spot in the Grand Final.

Just before Christmas last year, I recall attending a family wedding in Perth, where so many WA guests approach me to ask if Sydney was going to continue their bottom half of the ladder performance in Season 2011. I had to keep reminder them that they were clearly getting Season 2010 confused with Season 2009.

pfft! ... I can't remember any Mexican so called "expert" tipping the Swans to play finals in the past 10 years! ... keep it coming, we love it!

I'd be surprised if Mike Sheahan has us out of the 8. He's one Victorian scribe that respects the Swans and sings our praises consistently.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

We finished 5th last year. I seriously doubt we'll slip up enough over the course of 2011 to fall out of finals contention entirely. I think we can do at least as well as we did last year, if not slightly better.

Mike Sheahan is one Victorian scribe who actually does his homework, as well as realising that this a national competition.

Subject to any unforeseen injuries, the only question mark for another very good (top 6 or better) year, would be that the players find it hard to fit into John Longmire's coaching methods as opposed to Paul Roos. I very much doubt this, noting that Longmire has been on the coaching staff nearly a decade, working closely under Paul Roos for 8 plus seasons.

Also, bear in mind in the Swans' very good 5th place 2010, for most of the season they did not have their number one defender (C. Bolton), top ruckman (Seaby), and leading goalkicking forward (Bradshaw)
