You can be 100% assured that on Sunday morning all the Sydney media will be covering how the rugby league at Campbelltown beat the AFL at Blacktown.

So it is going to get worse. However, I'm going on a 4 hour harbour cruise this afternoon as part of my weekend workshop. Sigh!!! Someone has to do it! Limited to 25 on board. I learnt some very interesting things from last nights session. Whoever is taking calcium tablets as supplements might want to pm me.

Just another reason why the printed media is slowly fading into the sunset .
Desperately trying to pander to what they see as major interest groups and sensationalism.

Thats why we are grateful to have a forum such as this to keep us all informed ... will opinions , facts and gossip.

Better to be online than waste the money buying a paper where the articles are obsolete by the time you read it.

As well as nine league clubs, we're also competing with club rugby, the Waratahs and Sydney FC.

The Tele's anti-AFL stance is good publicity, making sure everyone knows the AFL is coming. When GWS one day beat the Swans, we'll definitely have a headline.

The stories have probably already been filed

Twas the night before NAB Cup, when all through the Net
Not a story in the Herald, not even a snippet.
            Apologies.

I tell you what if they get more than 10,000 to a trial at C\town the NRL deserve those headlines. It would be an incredible crowd for a nothing match.

There's some odd discrepancies between hard copy and online versions. Last week's Veszpremi story by Emma Quayle was in The Age hard copy but not Age online; I asked what had happened to it and Fairfax gave me a link to the SMH! For a (now) Melbourne-based player! They need to get their act together.
I expect they deliberately keep some stories off the online version, or they post them late in the day as part of their headless chicken business strategy.

To be honest, I've never found this to be the case at the SMH site.

Thanks Alison, and well done. A very nice rundown on the games.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
