One thing I am confident about is that once again Sydney will prove these Vic experts wrong.
Yeah I heard them talking up the doggies the other night on AFL 360. These are the same guys that said late last year that they were gone for several years. Honestly these guys make stuff up on the hop. They get 'perceptions' of the teams they don't follow and these perceptions stick for months, even years until someone does the 'impossible' like the swans did in 05. For many of them, the Swans are a stoppage team going through a rebuilding stage.

But there's two things I like about reading that article ... 1. we're still playing under the radar 2. there's always value if you want to take a punt on the swans. I won $700 on them last year with one single bet! Downside is we barely get a mention on footy shows ...well we can always vent on RWO!

There's always a way to make a buck out of the Melb press ignorance. Shame the bookies are not quite as naive though.
However, you can, as of today, get 50/1 about Goodesy for the Brownlow ;Rohan at 8/1 for the Rising Star(2nd fav); $1.90 for the final eight . $4.25 for the final four , and if you're really confident, 26 bucks for the flag! All at sportsbet and prob about the same with all the bookies..
Don't forget Goodes was 81/1 at the start of his
2nd brownlow season; they have short memories down there.

It was $50 on Swans to finish top non Victorian team last year. I got them when they were about 13 or 14/1! At the start of the season the bookies had us behind Adelaide, Brisbane, Port and Freo! Freo had this all year. No way the Swans would beat them but then Freo sent a B grade team to Tassie and got belted by the Hawks. That stuffed up their for and against. Swans also upset teams like Hawks and Doggies to bring home the money. I was a nervous wreck when we played Brisbane in the final round. Hard enough being a swans fan without having a fiar amount of cash on the line!

I'll add another odd to that list royboy42, anyone like the Swans at $3.30 to be the top finishing non-victorian side (including finals)? Surely Adelaide and Freo are our only competition here and Adelaide is stretching it!

Interestingly Kennedy is still 500/1 for the Brownlow. They just don't rate him. You wonder if the bookies were holidaying in the Bahamas when our finals games were played in 2010, and they must have been in a bar without a tellie when he had his 30 possessions against the Pies 2 weeks ago.

Just had a look at sportsbet's odds and they had J Kennedy of west coast at $501 and J Kennedy for Sydney at $251. They had (WC) and (Syd) to show the differance now.

I had that same win last year with 50 on the swans at 16 as top non vic side and i had a saver with the swans to make the 8 at 3. pretty satisfactory collect.

The reason why josh k is so long is that most people think we'll be lucky to win 14 games - so thats at best 3-4 opportunities to get bog.

if you assume collingwood will win 16-18 games and dane swan plays most of those you get a sense of why he is at 7s

Right now it still shows Josh Kennedy(Syd) at 500/1.

I'm seeing Kennedy (Syd) at $251...

Kieren Jack at $81 could be worth a shot.
