Interesting that the Swans (and other northern teams) are required to nominate Academy players under consideration as early as May. Fair enough too - gives other clubs a chance to scout them during the season to see if they might be worth bidding for. Presumably, though, there is nothing stopping the Swans just nominating every Academy player of draftable age in May. They are committing to nothing. Not to mention the fact that the more they nominate, the harder it is for other clubs to track them.

I'd like to think that there's something in place to stop clubs from doing that, if not it's a decent loophole.
