We are Geelong - the oldest team of all | Herald Sun
Research by the AFL's official stats guru shows that as soon as the number of 29-year-old players at a club hits six, its ladder position drops from the previous year.
Perhaps worryingly for the Cats, the more elder statesmen a club has, the steeper that slide is.
The Prospectus says that since 1999, seven clubs have entered a season with eight or more players 29 or older. Every one of those clubs dropped down the ladder.
According to Champion Data we are second on the list with 6 players 29 or over and most of them are injured.
Hope we can beat the trend.
