    Imports

I notice that 7 of the eighteen selected for Sunday's game played for another AFL club before us. About 40%..seems to justify the oft repeated theme that we recycle players as well as anyone, and better than most.

Is that stat any higher this year? I'm thinking that for Rd 1 2010 we didn't have Everitt but we had Bolton in the side, plus the same number of imports.

You're probably right Shocker. I wasn't trying to say we had used more or less than previous, more wondering if other teams would have similar stats.

St Kilda probably would. Though I reckon they have a lot in their 15-22 bracket and we have a lot in our top 10 most important bracket.

          Youth versus nous

I am not normally a big fan of Garry Lyon, but this is a good read - a contrast between the ways the Swans and Demons have built their current lists, and - specifically - a mention of the role George Stone has played in identifying the Swans "recycles".

Thanks liz, it is a good well thought article, and for once gives the swans a plus.

Excellent article. Garry is capable of some intelligent thought from time to time when he stops fooling around long enough to think properly. When its all said and done he will regret not having coached.

Agreed, it does show he has a good footy brain.
