One way of looking at it Jewels, is that most people vote for the top 1 or 2 players, so they are usually streaks ahead.
The the next X number of players all struggle to gain a clear advantage of the others in that group, so it gets a bit messy and sometimes the better players in that group miss out on a top 5 finish because of this anomaly.
So sometimes it worth not voting for the standouts!!Comment

I never gave Rhycey a vote and I was so annoyed at myself for it cause (while I do have a rather large soft spot for him and forgive most transgressions anyway) I thought he was magnificent on Saturday but I decided he was number four magnificent.Comment

But it then lacks credibility.
Some games are just hard to vote on, but that's just the way it is. Take the Richmond game for example. From memory Joey was a lock for 3 votes and somebody else was good for 2, but whoever got 1 vote probably had a shocker, but not as bad as the rest. To think a player got 1 vote for being 3rd best in that game, yet a dozen players (conservative) had better games on Sat against Geelong than the 1 vote getter v Richmond, but get nothing.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

What I see so often is a player who has been good all game, get a heap of 1 votes. Fair enough. There were probably players better than them.
But then another player will get a few 1 votes, but then some one will give them a 3 coz they had a 5 min burst, to suddenly jump up the ladder, when the first player had a better, day.
But you are still free to vote for whom ever you wish.Comment

Absolutely.
On reading your response, I may have mis-interprted your 'So sometimes it worth not voting for the standouts!!'
Did you mean standouts on the day, which I think is what should be voted on or it lacks credibility, or are you saying that people just generally vote for the standout players in the team ie. Goodes, Bolton, Goodes and Goodes?Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment
