    The Jetta/Rohan running appreciation thread

How good was Jetta and Rohan when they put their heads down and ran? Lewis off half back twice I think and Garry right up the middle. Can someone put together a youtube clip of these runs as they were brilliant to watch

It was twice for Jetta, he just let himself down the 2nd time with a really poor kick.

I'm sure the youtube boys will get one up soon.

The Rohan run was brilliant until he kicked it straight down the throat of a demons player. When you do that you need to finish the move off. Love the run and speed of both of them- they are going to be very important to us this year.

              Running must have a purpose

The problem with the Rohan run was that he ran too far. After his second bounce, McGlynn was clear and calling for the ball. By the time he'd had two more bounces, McGlynn had run out of space. Running through the lines is effective if you have more than one disposal option because the opposition doesn't know which way you're going to go. On this occasion there was only ever one option so the punch was telegraphed and took too long to arrive. Even if you're as fast as Rohan, a well kicked footy will always arrive quicker.

Rohan keeps his head down when running and bouncing, meaning he has little idea of what's ahead of him. In the reserves last year, he did a similar thing except with no idea what to do with it, he kept running and got pinged for not bouncing it.

Mattner is also afflicted with this disease.

No point being fancy if you're going to lose possession later down the line!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Rohan's biggest blunder was the bounce he took on the members wing late in the game which just made him run out of room and get smothered. That was just a very poor decision, but I'm only going off the TV, perhaps there was a long option down the ground he wanted to hit-up by being a bit closer...

I thought that tactically and physically against the Dee's game on the MCG (where we havent won much either) was a big ask for the young guys especially without out our solid preferred back six.............Rohan, Jetta, Reid, Incie and Sumner will rise from that game a lot smarter and better for it.

It must have been like surfing at Dee Why beach then being pushed out onto Sunset Hawaii !

back to the point they were great runs just for the fun factor of jumping out of my seat........saying go you good thing !!!!!!!!!

                      Go the Rooster !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone else start running down the living room looking for the final pass to set up Goodsie !!

                      I did

The run and speed of these two guys is going to be very important to us especially until Tighe and Eski come back, Rohan needs some games under his belt, his disposal is not the best, decision making etc, but that comes with experience, Jetta looks a ready made footy player, and if they have to drop one of them to get the irish back in, yd have to drop Rohan, but i think they'll play him and drop Bevan, who would be unlucky

All they have to do is find the ball more often in the clear. They should both play wing and move between the arcs to allow them space and room to run with the footy. If one of these blokes is clear to take a pass they can really break up a backline.
