With Hille and Ryder rucking for Essendon, Seaby will almost certainly be in the 21. If they bring Moore back in, perhaps a Sumner or Rohan can become the sub and cover for Jarred if he re-injures his ankle during the game.

Why not name Moore the sub and ease him back in?

We'll beat them. Some of them seem to already think its a divine given that this years grand final will be essendon vs Collingwood. Not a hope. The Bombers have improved, but we didn't play too badly against Melbourne and I think we will beat them. not by much, but we will!

Because the way I see it, the main aim of the sub is to cover for injuries and not for tactical reasons. Moore is important to out forward line structure and if he's passed fit I expect him in our best 21.

I thought the Bombers were pretenders.I watched them demolish a good Dogs side. They are not pretenders. Our best game can beat them but only if we convert chances.I would bring in Lamb and TDL and have them playing rotation in the forward pockets. Moore may get the structure right but he is not a heavy scorer and often butchers opportunities.

TDL is not available - out injured for a couple of weeks.

It will be a similar game to last year IMO, tough and tight contest and swans pull away and win by around 10-20 points in the end...here's hoping anyway, shut these essendon supporters up!

Hope it's not too much like last year's - something like 19 lead changes before we won by 9 points at the SCG. We'd have to improve a lot over that to win this Sunday.

im going to lay it on the line and say the swans will get rid of this hyped up rabble. Essendon are the most over hyped side ive ever seen after one round. Swans by 60, will romp in

You heard Longmire say that it's often only on Monday that they realise how vital Moore is to our success. As Primmy said of the midfield on Sunday, if Kirk had been there directing the troops we probably would have won. Ditto for Moore. And why does everyone want to bring an injured TDL back into the team? Why not aim higher and ask for Mal instead?

I hope that the boys, especially goodsey, have done a bit of kicking practice over the week cause we sure need to get a lot more accurate if we are going to have a fair dinkum crack this year

My question is where was the goal kicking practice over the summer? Looked just as poor in front of goal as last year. Its something I have never understood, as no matter how good a team you are, if you can't kick straight you don't win games, and as teams have learnt (especially Geelong in 2008) it can cost you BIG time on the big days.

The coaches used to say the same thing about Luke Ablett. That kind of muddled thinking caused us to play him for one season too many. Now they say this about Moore.
Selection is simple. If your form, your standard of play(includes goal kicking) ,your pace, your decision making doesn't warrant selection then you should not get picked. We should never pick a player because he can organise a forward line. That's the coaches job! If players are not listening to the coach we have a problem!!!
