Okay, I thought I'd bring it back this year and see what it throws up.
Not much to report after round 1, with the best on ground players from the seven winning teams, as well as us and Melbourne, picking up 10 points for the top nine spots, with seven players on nine points in the 10th spot.

I dig your thread, but 8 points for Bevan in Round 2? I know he kicked 2 goals, but he only had 8 touches and he continually makes mistakes. IMHO Bolton was by far the best player on the ground. 25 disposals, 3 goals (including the winner), 11 clearances, 9 tackles - what does he have to do to get 10 points. Surely both O'Keefe (27 touches) & McGlynn (3 goals) were also better than Bevan.

I just love these so called experts. My grandfather used to be one many years ago & wrote footy obituaries in the Sunday paper (Adelaide Mail). Old Stump never attended a game he used to sit in the Holdfast Hotel across from the ground and pay some poor old pensioner to watch the game & report back to hime at the end of each quarter. Murray W a very famous Collingwood player did exactly the same thing many years later. either the SANFL was not very interesting or the beer at the pub was pretty good. What is an expert? Someone who may or may not have a couple of brain cells to rub together, judging from some of the spelling & grammatical errors in the sports section of our major newspapers, I am starting to doubt the existence of any grey matter in the craniums of our so called experts.

I realise this is a pointless argument as it based on media "experts" but I don't recall Bevo, Macca, Reg or Hanners starring at any time in the first four rounds. They were good but not standouts.

Bevo did have a good game in the fwd line, and I think Fwds tend to get noticed more than backs.

I was dumbfounded that Super Ted didn't get named in the best in any of the three media outlets. He was our best player from where I was sitting in the Brewongle Stand.
