I think Pyke has to play and Everitt was wasteful and didn't play that well last week. Good luck to AJ I also look forward to seeing Lamb & Parker. But everyone for their different roles & this bloke will play on a key forward. He is being groomed for Fullback & he will eventually fill that role. There is no use Horse saying that the specialist Forward is dead & everyone has to be totally versatile. No-one believes it & while we are creating versatility in our list we are still looking to certain players to play particular roles in the future ie; Key Positions. All year all the talk has been will Braddy get up for a game? If as Horse says specialist forwards are dead then why so much emphasis on getting Braddy & then on his fitness, why not delist him if he didn't fit with the mould. Every side has both tall & small specialist forwards & defenders, I'd hate to go into a game with young jetta suddenly playing Fullback

Jetta was lucky to keep his place given his performance last week but on his "home ground" with his family watching has every chance to redeem himself .A sensible selection to give him that chance.
One ruckman or two? I fear like many on here that we will injure Mummy through over work if we keep picking one ruckman and White is not too good as a ruckman. It would be ok if we could give him 10 minutes rest per quarter using Teddy in the backlines,White in the forwards to take the ruck work and play defensive at the stoppages roving off WCE's taps.Thats always Plan B if your ruckman breaks down.
When we dominate in ruck watch the opposition followers steal our taps!! It can be done but on field play is where it comes unstuck.
Keeping Reid up front all the time while White moves around is essential both for the midfield to have a reliable target they know will be there and to give the lad confidence.
I expect the little Gopher to pop up as a target often.
We should win but it will be close as WCE are playing with passion. On paper we are the better team.Comment

Seriously couldn't quite believe it when I saw that we were going to go into this game without a second specialist ruckman.I can just see SuperTed trying to match it with NickNat and being totally out-monstered with perfect delivery from a comparatively fresh Cox who is able to leave behind a tiring Mummy. I just don't think that White has the endurance for this ground to provide support to the Mummy. And what help he can give will be countered by the fact that he could at least keep Glass busy at full forward if he didn't have to ruck.
I actually think that there must be a fitness doubt about someone (say Grundy) and in actual fact Pyke (who is well suited to this ground) will line up in the side. This would also account for Johnson's inclusion. We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!Comment

why pick a second ruck for the sake of it? pyke wont match either of them seaby probably wont either, i dont think they give much more than white as a second ruck in terms of stopping cox or nic nat.Theres not much left to sayComment

[QUOTE=Primmy;523648]Ah HA!!! Thickening of the plot!!!!
Gooedsy coming out and talking up a role on NicNat seems to promote the idea that are building it all up for a bait and switch!!! However, I don't think that's the case. I call no changes!

What about the age old strategy of sharking the opposition's hitouts. If your mids are good enough to do this then you don't need a second specialist ruck. White only needs to make a contest.Comment

However, Cox and NicNat get down front a bit and NicNat especially has some toe as well. We'll need to make sure we can cover that off if we only have the Mids sharking the hitouts.
