    The Substitute

    Not an award winning movie starring Dustin Hoffman.

    I've only seen 4 games over 2 rounds with the rule in place, but think the best way to play it would be to start with 2 ruckman, and sub out 1 ruckman halfway through the third/start of the fourth for a running player.

    Loading Mumford with the amount of work he's been earmarked for, and the ability of White in the ruck doesn't bode well.

    Opinions from the tacticians amoungst us?
    The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

      Is it safe?

      That scene did well for promoting dental work. Back on topic. Makes very good sense to me what you're saying. Probably goes back to the old society view that mummies can do everything!

      I think this week will show the Swans tactics. It will either be the two specialised rucks or that other thingy that hasn't worked that well.

              On OTC, Roos made an analogy of the substitute being akin to coming in inthe last 10pm of a marathon. He thinks any player should have an impact when they are injected in but he thinks it would be better to select an impact player rather han a versatile player who can cover a number of positions

                  None more obviously than Rohan.

                  Thought Mummy did unbelieveably well against Cox AND Naitunuai - he should never have been in that situation. I spent the game worrying about the final quarter and one of the best warriors on the park rolled into a ball being molested by 2 guys who had played half as much.

                  Thought Horse pressed the activation button at the correct time. I see the value in waiting to 3/4 time and giving the players a heads up stating look for this target...may have happened anyway...

                      That's what I've thought, too. and Was happy to see Rohan make such an impact on Saturday. If you are gunna bring on fresh legs, get the most out of them.
                      I remember in league GF's of the past they'd have a forward player, who knew he was only going to play for the first 10-15 minutes. And his job was to tackle and tackle hard, to soften up the opposition. An Impact player.
