Swans Round 6 game vs Carlton broadcast in to Sydney

Is it just me who thinks that Sydney fans in Sydney are still getting screwed by the broadcasters with a "4 hour" delay going by the AFL website for channel 7's broadcast in to Sydney that night HELLO are we still living in the 1980's ???? ... Ok yes its a home game but come on 4 hours delay???

I don't have a problem with that - it will hopefully help encourage more people get to the game.

Anyway there's probably somthing more important on like Better Homes & Gardens....

They changed it to a live broadcast recently didn't they? I could swear I saw something about it around.

Yep, and that made me a happy camper.
I was afraid we wouldn't get it at all.

Sucks that the game is 4hrs delayed in Sydney. Why can't they do the same as down here???

I wouldn't be surprised if 9 in Sydney make the same decision 7 has made in Melbourne and runs with the usual Friday night League double header, thus leaving the wedding to 7 and 10.

It's live into Sydney on Foxtel and when it's all said and done, a fair proportion of their audience will actually be at the game anyway...

All supporters from Sydney should be at the SCG anyway.

Good point people. If your not at the game, you deserve to watch the wedding. hehehe.

7mate has been showing the Friday night games at 8:30 in Sydney this year. Surely the wedding is only on 7 which would leave 7mate to continue with it's normal coverage?

I never have an issue with delayed telecasts into Sydney for home matches, unless of course it is a near sell out. I don't think we can honestly expect any network to show this game on its main channel against Rugby League or the Royal Wedding. It's just screaming out for a negative story on what should be a fun night for our first Friday Night H&A match in years.

7mate will have a 1hr delay and Foxtel will have it live, it's more than enough for Sydneysiders.

They are no longer doing that according today's TV guide for the week. No AFL on 7mate.

Cleaning up I found last week's tele guide and there was no AFL on friday night last week on 7mate either. Replay 6am Saturday morning.

So your comments are not correct.

I'll be at the game so it doesn't affect me but for others that don't have Foxtel and can't be in the game - radio or internet stream is the only way to go for you.

I think it's only for the country affliate PRIME that they were having Friday night footy from 8.30. I posted an article about this in the General Footy Forums.
