I gave up trying to get to Manuka, so am going to Brisbane instead.

Just noticed on the AFL Canberra site, it says the Reserves v GWS game at Manuka begins at 9.10amI've just noticed that we're playing the Giants as a curtain raiser to the Dogs game at Manuka in three weeks time - starting at 9.50am. That makes driving down on Saturday morning completely out of the question. Time to ask the boss for the Friday off, methinks giving that the traffic out of Sydney after about 3pm on a Friday night is a nightmare.
Seems weird that they would fixture the two Sydney based teams to play a game in Canberra. I know GWS have a Canberra allegiance but surely they'll have plenty of opportunities to play other Canberra teams in Canberra.

You're right - it was at Homebush. When I was writing my post, "SCG" didn't feel right but I knew it was a day home game and had forgotten we played that one against the Loins on a Sunday afternoon after getting bumped from the Saturday night by the Bledisloe Cup.
And while it was late in the season, it might not have been round 22. We always seem to play the Lions nowadays in round 22 so I was probably just making an assumption.Comment

What a wonderfull appreciation of each players efforts. Thankyou
The only thing that I believe that may have been worth mentioning was Belconnen's first goal, which skidded through due to a lack of urgency from Johnston. He could have gotten a touch at least. I thought it was a bit lah-de-dah to not make the effort.Comment

The fact that Pyke spent more time in the forward line than in the ruck seems to indicate they're grooming him for White's current role which is more forward than ruck at the moment.Comment

I noted that on the Twitter feed but without the benefit of a replay I couldn't definitively class it as a LJ mistake. From what I remember, it seemed to me that the Belco player slipped as he kicked it meaning he made contact with the ball a little sooner than LJ expected and hence it looked like he was late to react. What a wonderfull appreciation of each players efforts. Thankyou

Business as usual. SNAFU. Goodbye first bounce, goodbye first quarter? Presumably The GWS fans driving down from Sydney will be able to get through the gates before the first bounce?
A few years back we turned up to a Reserves match at Queanbeyan on the wrong day because the Swans hadn't notified a change to the draw they distributed at the beginning of that year. Even since then we have checked and double checked with the local clubs and grounds to be sure. Haven't resolved this one yet. There's always the crystal ball.
Oh, and thanks ugg. Your Reserves reports continue to give the detail, dignity and analysis they deserve.Comment

Sorry to drag this up again but two new pieces of information point to match starting at 9.10am. The sportingpulse page has updated to say the match starts at 9.10am and the gates open at 9am.Just noticed on the AFL Canberra site, it says the Reserves v GWS game at Manuka begins at 9.10am

Can't understand why they would start it 4 hours before the seniors. 9.50 makes much more sense. Hopefully the club can confirm one way or the other...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style.
