Awesome!
"Some of Sydney's biggest names are off contract next year when free agency is introduced, which would allow the likes of stalwart Adam Goodes, Jarrad McVeigh and Ryan O'Keefe to move freely to other clubs if they so desired"
I'm not worried about any of those except Ryan... I wonder where his head is at a few years down the track from his last attempt to leave? My guess is as close to the end as he will be by then, he will stay and finish up a one club player and then return to Melbourne. -
Good signing, he's been average this year but he did enough last season and during preseason to show me that this is good news. The more important re-signing is Rohan, however. I can definitely picture a few Victorian clubs getting into his ear, maybe Geelong to try and get us back for taking Mummy.Comment

Good news.
I'm not looking forward to free agency though. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Great news, but I'll breathe a bigger sigh of relief once we lock in Sam Reid to a long term extension as well. Anyone know if he is out of contract at the end of this year?Comment

I assume he is as draft selections sign 2 year deals only once selected by the club, hence the need to sign rohan aswell.Comment

We'll be lucky to keep them all. GWS can offer Sam and Gary a lot more money then we can pay them so it wouldn't surprise me if one of them goes...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I was thinking more of the go home factor than the GWS one. Both Gary and Sam (both country boys) had recent articles where they said that they really struggled at first to adapt to Sydney life. They followed up by saying they're pretty settled now but i still take that with a grain of salt.
Jolly had an article the same year he left saying he can't see himself anywwhere else but in Sydney and could see that he wanted to finish his career here or something along the lines.
Let's just hope like hell they both follow Jetta's lead.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

I think it's been a blessing to have Gold Coast enter the comp a year before GWS.
The big money will still be tempting, but potential recruits will have seen first hand the floggings gold coast are recieving every other week.
So I don't think there are going to be as many willing to leave, unless it's for better opportunities.Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.

GWS have two years to recruit uncontracted players versus Gold Coast's one. I'd be very surprised if they don't snap up at least one Swan.Comment

The money, being part of history and playing with some of the best young juniors available will tempt some players I'm sure...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors.
