Ain't that the truth! Especially since some of the older players recognise me and welcome me with a hug. It must be the hair. I am working on the new generation of hugs for the next 15 years, you just persist until they think they know who you are, or ought to know who you are.
PS: I also asked Incy if he liked being subbed; the response was a flat no.
Didn't think so either. I like him, he is ok.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Seconded. Got home in time to see the inductions from the 80's onward. Looked like a great evening and one that I will make sure to get to in the next few years. Just watching on the internet made me prouder to be a supporter of this club, can only imagine what it was like being there.Comment

They only showed the actual presentations. In between times you only got the logo and music. At the end they showed all the memorabilia,it was great to see all the old photos, annual reports, news articles, footy cards ect. It would be great if we could get it on You tube with all the HOF player footage. Any chance Jenny????Comment

His antics, both in his playing days and his post career antics, have overshadowed just what a superb full forward he really was. His high flying marks and tight shorts make most quickly forget just what an unselfish player he was and was just as effective on the ground as in the air.
Stevie Wright would not have been half the goal sneak he became known as if it wasn't for Capper feeding him handballs from second efforts after he brought the ball to ground from marking contests deep in the forward line.I have/had an old VHS tape of the Swans 1986 season and it would be a great experience for some of the younger RWO's (as well as the old) to watch Deisel, Healy and Capper in full flight. Capper was just superb in those Edelstein years.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I didn't go this time as I didn't think it would be able to top the first one. Even though I would have had to sell the car to go I think I regret it as those t ypes of memories are so special."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

Thanks all for the updates, watched bits and pieces of it on the live stream and it looked great (even in full-screen mode). What a great club it is that we have. I think it was Tony Morwood that said "How could I forget" when Craig Willis quizzed him about playing with Capper. He's got personality, sure, but imagine playing alongside that ego...

Thank you all, I wasn't able to be there, nor was I able to follow the feed on Swans TV ... But I got the updates from Facebook during and here afterwards. Thanks to the attendees for sharing.
Might I please add that I am a huge Capper fan, always have been, and I take great pleasure in reminding those that ridicule him how good he was in the eighties. Those that do ridicule him, do so on the grounds of his antics outside of football (which are very calculated and opportunistic - the man KNOWS what he is doing, and doing it very nicely). He so deserves his inclusion in the Hall Of Fame on the grounds of his football prowess.Comment

it was a fantastic night - the company at table 81 was exceptional, the food and wine lovely (thanks Al for passing part of your dessert you didnt like my way - well, ok after I said "well hand it over then!") and the night as a hole was a ripper.
Special mention must be made for Lucky Knickers & Kirkari who both looked stunning!
The entire production, film archives and research that went into it all was second to none. beautifully put together.
It was good fun singing along with the Australian girls choir when they did their extra fast version of Cheer Cheer the red and the white and of course they did I still Call Australia Home perfectly.
As Al & Primmy have said - thanks must go to Basil Sellars for the table - that man is a real champion for the Swans who just goes about his business quietly - a very precious gem that our club has.
All the inductees were great - but to Warwick Capper he just stole the show, he knows how to entertain (Lucky Knickers would have been beside herself!) very funny bloke indeed.
Thanks to Primmy for taking me along great to share such a terrific night.(and for the panadol and outfit malfunction implements) you had the time of your life - and doesnt out Primmy like getting hugs from all of those young chaps
As I went to the car at the end of the evening - I saw Jarred Moore and one of the other lads trying to find their car - quite funny really, I think that they were on the wrong floor!
so cheers everyone - a great night had by all.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
Chickens drink - but they don't pee!

Sounds like the ball finding ability from the night before carried over to cars the following night. In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

What a fantastic night. Such class at this club - players and supporters alike, may I say. There was a really great atmosphere and pretty much the only people who got talked over were the band. (There may have been a few roudy Capper fans that talked over the next presentation, but hey...)
Kirky was at the next table over with most of his extended clan and refusing to bow to jetlag - claimed he was staying up until 5 or 6 am to stay on the right time zone for flying back to Europe on Monday. He's skinny! I noticed most of the youngsters came over to him for big hugs throughout the night - clearly a lot of love and respect there.
Micky O's mention of Craig Bolton was perfect and got a rousing response.
Loved it, loved it, loved it.Superman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment

This weekends game should definately be added to the HOF.
First win after 9 losses straight to Cats
First win in 12 years at the Cattery. Was Cressa's knee slapper during this losing streak?
Not to mention ending a 29 game, 4 year winning streak.
I think thak that might qualify it.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment
