    looking at the frees
    Swans feees for 24
    Bulldogs frees for 14

don't see that big a discrepancy normally (unless it is against us)

was that our worst 4th Qtr score difference this year?

Its good to see Reid taking strong marks across the ground. Him and Pyke easily make up for White.

Longmire in the postmatch said "We lost pykie after 3/4 time". Anyone know what his problem is ?

Oh I forgot to say anything about Jetta.... he is really a passenger at the moment that is having very little influence on the game. Looks a bit down on confidence and needs a week or 2 in the reserves to find some footy and kick a few goals. His defensive pressure in a 1 on 1 is slowly improving but still too often his efforts in that case aren't good enough for AFL footy.

Seemed to have ice strapped to (left?) front of thigh, so just corked is my optimistic guess. No injuries listed after the game, although everyone looked sore!

One area of concern is the sub selection. Moore is a one paced player....slow....he's a good player, a smart player, but he's not an impact player....He was never going run anyone off their feet....poor choice...again!

Thanks, after finally getting him in for White i'd hate him to be injured.

They should let the moose loose at FF for a few weeks. Big 2 goals today.

Teddy had a great game today. Mattner seemed to be in a lot of pain when he went down in front of goal and the bulldogs scored in that last qtr. It was the same shoulder he hurt earlier in the game.

I agree completely. Subs have to be fast, Rohan was ideal, until he got injured.

Welcome back ROK. Well done Nipper on a solid first up performance and honourable mentions to Pykie and AJ. Well done boys.

Just back from the Rising Sun. Terrific game to watch, and we deserved the win. I'm glad Pyke played up front and in terms of function was pretty much a straight swap for Jesse - full forward who rucks a bit, except he already seems to be a better positional forward than Jesse and his rucking is among the best in the AFL, so a winner in both areas. Also I'd say our forward structure was better when he was down there.
Agree with the critics of choice of Moore as sub. As I said somewhere else, I am increasingly of the opinion that the sub needs to be running midfielder/forward or midfielder/back, people like Rohan, Jetta, Gordon, Parker would be my pick.
Very good game from Teddy today, continued his fine work in marking and spoiling and his disposal was much better. The back six went well as a unit on the whole, with nice work from each of them at different times. The forwards did well but could have been more accurate; not too often that Benny McGlynn misses set shots like those.
The aspect I thought most pleasing was the way we came back after the first 15 minutes and picked up our pace to match the Doggies. Several times I thought their running game would see us out of the match, but our running, handballing and linking was breathtaking at times, and while there were still too many kick-and-hope efforts, and give the Dogs' pressure credit where it's due, on the whole our field kicking generally stood up to the pressure pretty well.
A game to raise our hopes.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Couldn't agree more. Surely is a shoo-in for Best Blog as well.

                            Yes.

One suggestion would be TDL in, Jetta out with TDL in the forwards and McGlynn in the middle for Jetta's place.

I think what made it worse was that the Swans had a 3 or 4 goal lead at 3/4 time.

I'm sure if Biffo was playing today then we would have been grimacing a loss. As the Television Talking Heads said, the Bulldogs missed Hall more than they did Lake today. Instead they have three straight losses and we don't.

At one stage it appeared as if we had McGlynn playing Full Forward there in the third quarter. Overall, at least on tele, we had a better effort than last week and that's an improvement. Hopefully LRT (doing his best to look like Justin Bieber today on the half time interview) will be back in the next week or two and Eski as well, that would add to our strongest defence for all season. Just have to work out forward structure now.

I would like to see TDL in for sure..As much as Nipper looked OK. I would take TDL over him.. As crazy as it might sound, I would like to see White on the wing to replace Jetta. White has some good pace and is quite hard to tackle. He is kind of a little guy in a big guys body somehow..
