I think Jetta is an important link for the future but agree some time in the twos would help him at the moment. I think it needs to be more than a few weeks so he can get a lot of the ball and gain confidence.

TDL or Jesse didn't show enough today to replace him but Luke Parker put his name up again.

We've played last year's finals series in reverse over the last two weeks, but nearly kicked ourselves out of it again.

Our defenders were great. Apart from Ted's marking and defensive efforts, Grundy, Smith and Kennelly and AJ gave a lot of run off halfback.

Good to see Everitt redeem himself. This week's sub was a dud once again. Might be time for Jetta to try out the green jacket.

PYke just gets better and better. His goal on the siren was all class. Loved his snap almost as much as Nipper's goal.

No way Doggies will make the GF. They might struggle to make the eight.

Surely Alex Johnson can't be dropped for LRT after his marvellous performance today!

Back from a pleasant after win drive back from the nations capital and the one prevailing emotion is relief. From the 5min mark we were the better side but gee didn't we make hard work of it.

Backline was terrific today with Teddy an absolute standout.
Nipper had a few brain fades but will be much better for the run and certainly deserves another crack next week.
Goodes got the ABC Man of the match but he frustrated me today with some of his decision making. Am I being too harsh on Adam???
Forward line is a work in progress but Everitt and Moose were good. TDL worked hard in the ressies so will probably be pushing for selection next week.
ROK best game of the year. Back to his best.

Will watch the replay to see if any of these observations turn out to be bull@@@@.

              Agreed.

Maybe give Luke Parker a game next week and have Jetta as the sub.

i was happy to win, i think the main focus today had to be 4 points, get back on track and then iron out the kinks.

There are still some concerns in the side obviously, reid has talent but doesnt get involved a lot at times, perhaps even leading too far up the ground? I thought he would of been better to sub off instead of pyke if we wanted a tall off, but was pyke sore or injured? I also think jetta needs to work on his disposal it lets him down too often and the forward structure is still a bit hit and miss, we control games for long periods and dont make the most of it. Today we should of had a 30+ point win.

The positive, Johnson was brilliant, he has a good footy brain, the little quick grubber to the boundry in a crucial moment in the 4th quarter stand out to me. He takes the game on i like the kid. Richards Grundy Shaw Mattner in fact the whole backline were generally good, a few wonky disposal moments especially early but they held together well.

I was very please with birds game, id like to see haneberry get the ball a bit more though

Just happy to beat the dogs at manuka for a change when it looked ugly early.

Whew, what a relief to win that one. At the ground it seemed such a poor game...but watching the replay it doesn't seem nearly as bad. Perhaps it was the crowd, they seemed very subdued and not much atmosphere, perhaps we were all stunned by the high ticket prices. There weren't many empty seats, seemed bigger than 10,000. Both teams look to be a long way from Collingwood & Geelong.

Wouldn't say it was the most exciting game sidswan, but it was pretty high pressure and we did very well to win with the side we had.

VERY impressed by Johnson - he looks to be a great find - especially at 57 or whatever he was taken as.

A lot of our good players were very late draft picks infact i think goodes was in the 40s someone can correct me on that if they see fit.

But yeah johnson looks much better then expected and i look forward to see him play over the next decade.

if goal kicking is not a focus at training this week, it bloody well should be...Cost us against the Cats, blues and nearly cost us today...Scoreboard pressure is something we desperately lack..% is going to be vitally important in the make up of the 8....Bar Collingwood & Geelong spots 3-12 will be up for grabs. You only have to look at the Tigers demolition of the Dockers today to see that.

Exactly the point Horse made in the press conference. We need to start taking our opportunities when we have the ascendency otherwise it will cost us more games in the future.

Sadly the % issue is much more likely to be a function of how often you get to play Gold Coast than your accuracy during the season.
