    The Amazing Malceski

A good article documenting Mal's speedy return:

    Malceski's remarkable recovery

Having had the dreaded knee recon myself, I can't be more impressed with his courage and attitude. As well the advances in sports science and medicine -- ACL's used to end careers, now they don't even end seasons!

Does anyone know if this op was on the same LARS knee, or does he have LARS in both knees now?

It must be the same knee because Horse said "We?ve been able to progress Nick through the rehab more quickly this time because he?s had the surgery before. That meant no new holes had to be drilled in his bone and there was far less surgical trauma to overcome this time."

          Same knee. Twice.
God love ya Melcho. You're a machine!!
          Amazing, isn't it?
Cambo said it took him 14 weeks from injury to playing again.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

OK, so it's the second LARS on the same knee.

A big upside to LARS is they don't have to take a tendon from anywhere else to replace the ACL. Usually it's a piece of patella tendon or hamstring, and that can take as long to recover from as the knee itself.

All the same, I hope they use an industrial-strength band this time. We don't want this to be a regular occurrence for him.

I just can't wait to see Mal running off half back and delivering those bullets into the forward line. Possibly the most accurate kick in the side when it comes to distance and accuracy in field kicking. Not sure about his kicking at goal, can't remeber him having many

Let's hope he has some form this time and doesn't take a year to find it. That's the REAL challenge.
