Has anyone notice how the result of the first quarter of all but one of the Swans' first 9 games has proved to not reflect the final result. Witness:
In all but the Port Adelaide game, the Swans did not lead at the first break in all of their victories thus far against the Eagles (where scores were level), Essendon, the Bulldogs, and North. Indeed in relation to the latter three games, there was a distinct possibility of a runaway win to the eventual losers during the course of the first quarter. And in the Swans' massive 62 point win over Port they only led by 3 points at quarter time.
By contrast, in all games where Sydney led at quarter time, against Melbourne, Geelong, Carlton, and Hawthorn, they failed to eventually win, with comfortable losses to the Cats, the Blues, and the Hawks.
Please explain!
