    GCS vs Cats

If you are not watching this, go there now.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

How good does the stadium look. Be a wonderful ground to watch footy from.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

The Suns have some seriously good talent. Their handball skills and extraction into space are at times astonishing. And then you add Ablett. The only thing that beat them today was seasoned bodies; after another pre-season they will be formidable. Karmichael Hunt is already shoving scornful words back down the speakers' throats.

Very true dimelb. As there bodies develop some bulk, and they become a team, they will be very good.

DO GC get anymore draft concessions this year??

I don't think so (but I could be wrong), this year it's the Giants turn.

They're getting better very quickly. They're not going to be easybeats, especially at home. By the time we play them we're going to have to be on our game.

Hunt's goal was a snorter, as was the pass from Ablett to get it to him. It was good that the Cats finally got to find out what the rest of the clubs have had to contend with for years - how hard it is to play against Ablett! Hunt's going very well IMO and improving at the same rate as the guys around him if not quicker.

As far as I'm aware (and if my memory isn't failing me) GC got only one year of a compromised draft (2010) but the Giants will get two (2011, 2012).

I was really thrilled for Karmichael Hunt - he has been bagged so ferociously by the armchair experts in the media so his on the run goal from outside 50 was superb, that shut em up. And I'm glad that all the crowd responded the way they did. It was a great match to watch - Whilst Geelong were clinical in the second half - the Suns showed real talent and the future looks quite bright for them.. Apparently yesterday on the "nrl sunday roast" one of the panelists wasnt too happy them showing the goal of Hunts- that old paranoia coming through from the NRL types again!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I confess to a soft spot for the Suns, just as one who always feels for the underdog. Well, and as a fan of the old Lost in Space show, I have to sort of like a team with a player named Zachary Smith. As I watched their game v Geelong I kept saying through that first half "watch, they'll click and gel into a powerhouse juggernaut that can play like this for 4 quarters ohhhhhh, right about the round my Swans play them ...*sigh* ..."

I suppose if, in a year or so, they become the powerhouse behemoth we all dread they might, and spend the next few years pummeling us, we can at least enjoy it when they stomp Collingwood.

I honestly would not be surprised if they made the finals next year.
