It seems pretty clear, and predictable, that Horse , after 8 years under Roos...then hand picked by Roos as successor... would have similar views on how the game should be played. You might not see it that way Liz, but I do.
There has been one exception to the tired old Swans game style.... the game against Collingwood... when we definitely played a faster, more attacking, risk taking, style of game...And what a good game it was. I hope we see a lot more like it.
In the second half, in the first we were just crap.

Ugg you are making excuses. The Hawks have used every player on their list and some of their rookies this year & have half the forwardline out, Roughead. They also lost Bailey again until the Woods game. We are pretty good with injuries considering & if we lose our two best from last year the others are expected to step up & if they can't then there is only one way to go, out the door! DEPTH! DEPTH! DEPTH! That is what winning a premiership is all about. We have it but I don't think we are playing players who suit the conditions & match ups.

fwiw i reckon depth is the eact opposite of winning a premiership. i reckon premierships are won by the sides that suffer the fewest injuries and have the most settled team.

hawthorn are demonstrating how good their depth is but i dont really think they can seriously be considered a flag chance.

Lots of people are talking about how much depth we have but I don't buy it. The NEAFL gives us no great indicator of our depth. I think our current problems are more caused by a few of our experienced players not being in great form at the moment, our best two young-ish players (Jack and Mummy) not getting on the park often enough, and obviously our woes up forward. I think that apart from the addition of TDL, there's no one else that is going to come into the team outside the current squad that could help turn things around for us - I think it's the established players that need to pick it up a gear or two. Hopefully that will start this week...

Longmire's game plan against Collingwood was brilliant.Using LJ's kick outs to beat the forward press really worked and some Swans players got into the Pies heads about their goal kicking. IMO he made a critical mistake of leaving Reg on Cloke for too long. The Pies got a couple of extra goals they need not have got through this game day coaching action.

I think he has been unlucky with injuries. We may have beaten Carlton had Jack not gone down and Pyke left immediately after showing us all he had the potential to be the answer up front. Even losing Smith and Mummy for the Adelaide game with no Jack proved crucial.

I think the two areas that he could do better in are the use of the SUB and secondly with selection. He really needs to work on the Sub,that should have been a match winner but has not been effective. Selection? I disagree with Everit getting a Gold Pass and Disagree with TDL kicking all those goals without a call up to the Seniors.I like what I see of LJ although he has a long way to go he still offers more than Everitt.

I think 7/10 at this stage of the years where we could still be "anything"!

Hypothetical question - If Malthouse said he would like to coach the swans would it be a good thing for the Board to consider? Or his Horse the best coach we could have to get us another flag?

Lethal still has some mileage left.. He has had a nice break and should be refreshed and ready to go..

This is a very good point, you could throw McGlynn in there as well, LJ, and AJ, even White still needs to reach his best playing days, meaning if his brain develops into his body instead of his tatts

How long is Longmire's contract? We are completely unwatchable this season

I don't care what the apologists say, I've seen enough to know that we will never win a premiership with him in charge, in fact we'll be lucky to even make the finals this year the way we are travelling

                      Completely unacceptable

I am not against horse yet, but I do think we made a decision too hastily to look after an insider. We'll see over the next twelve months whether things improve.
