    Players you can't touch

    Chris Judd, great player Untouchable
    Gary Ablett great player Untouchable
    Paul Chapman good player Untouchable
    Alan Didak good player Untouchable

Please add any player you think gets a better than average deal with the umpires, I would say Joel Selwood but he just exploits the rules & bends his knees so he gets tackled high.

Jack Reiwoldt - Good player gets paid marks becuase he jumps high, whether or not he controls the ball.
Nick Reiwoldt - gets near the ball and gets a free kick.

        Dear wolftone7
Your posts are excellently worthy of Big Footy. I note you are starting threads there. Can you please not bring them here!
YOu have slammed the absolute elite ball winners of the comp. Aside from Didak (not sure how he gets included in such elite company) the Judd, Abletts and Selwoods of the competition are what make the fans keep coming back.
I hope the listed players above continue to try and win the ball and get rewarded by the umps if they are unfairly impeded (not unlike one D. Martin today), blocked and scragged!

          Hello??????

          Goodesy is untouchable.

Um ... that's why the opposition boo him every time he touches the ball.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Good thread, Judd is the one that immediately springs to mind, seems to be almost untouchable in the umps eyes and I reckon some of his handballs are questionable but he never gets pinged.

Exploiters of rules are slightly different and Joel Selwood is a knee buckler extraordinaire dragging so many high tacle frees.

I still reckon one of the best was "throw himself forward" Matthew Lloyd. I'd like to know how many of his goals came from that tactic.

The other one from the ages is Gavin Wanganeen of spring loaded head fame. Got the umps to blow their whistle every time he charged through packs even though slo mo would show there often wasn't contact.

I'll have a think on other currently protected players, other than Goodsie!

Judd can't touch him because you can't catch him, too good too cleaver.

The speed and effectiveness of his hands in heavy traffic sets him apart.

Definitely. He's almost in the same class as Bird.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
