I'm predicting a 7-1-5 with a stronger run into the finals.

Really impossible to compare 2008 with today as the team and opponents are so different. However a similar run of losses would very well see a low home final crowd again. After all it is Sydney. That's the only thing that is easy to predict.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

There is not many teams that have had a seasoned key defender out and their FF like we have this year

If you took out Maxwell and Cloak out for the whole season or Scarlett and Pod............both these teams would drop a couple games because of those key players missing

So my theory is that our best is yet to come !....... 7 more wins for me !

        Precisely!
Take last years team, lose your FF and FB before a ball is bounced, then have your CHB and most important HBFs (Kennelly & Malceski ) out for half the season so far. Play 5 debutants, and play 9-10 junior players every match.
I think we are doing amazingly well to be in the 8! But I wouldn't be surprised if we dropped a bit as a consequence of all those young bodies playing a long season.

I think we will win 7 or 8 games and maybe sneak the top 4. But while that guarantees 2 finals and a good chance at a prelim, it also guarantees either Geelong or the Pies in week 1- a nasty assignment to say the least! We need to find much better consistency over the 2nd half of the season if we want to even keep it respectable against either of those teams come the important end of the season. Most importantly though, we need to have everyone fit and firing and we bludy well need to learn to kick straight. I hate the thought of us getting close to a big win in the finals (think the upset against Port in 2003) only for us to blow it by not kicking straight. That was bad enough last year when we lost to the dogs, but I think this year's team has the potential to take at least an extra step and make the prelim finals.
