What forwards are available at the end of the year??

Gotta kick goals - the stats from todays game (below)... we all know we need a strong forward to replace the Bradshaw gap. We should have plenty of room in the salary cap. Any ideas on who to target?

    Inside 50s
    Swans 46
    Blues 42

    Marks inside 50
    Swans 17
    Blues 10

    Contested Marks
    Swans 23
    Blues 7

Good stats there. We really wasted opportunities up fwd. today.
    Butchered it actually.
When your leading goal kicker is the smallest bloke in the team, there is a problem.

I'm not sure this is the right place to mention it but in the second quarter when we really needed a goal we had five set shots for a return of 1.2. The poor kicking at goal which has been a feature of this team just stood out.

We could've been 4 goals up if they hadn't fluffed that other one in the first.
It was all down hill from there.

It was all downhill from Mummy dropping the sitter which resulted in Carltons first goal.

We have LJ, TDL and White in the reseves. All are capable of kicking goals.

              The coaching is the problem.

Too much reliance on Goodes and resting ruckman. Neither particularly strong avenues to goal.

Is Podsiadly from Geelong out of contrcat?

Gee I'd like him at the club- but I'd fear he'd be seen as another Nick Davis! I watched him closely last night at the St Kilda-Geelong game, and while he is a sharpshooter, he does drift in and out of games. I'd like to see him in a future forward line for us alongside TDL, LJ and SR.

He'd never leave Geelong though surely?

TDL and White have had their chances and have blown them. Get back LJ or dont change it, White isn't seen for 95% of the game and he cant read play very well.
Need to recruit a gun forward from a different club and with bradshaws salary being taken off the cap next year and a few of our players going on the veterans list should open up some room to look for one from other clubs, Key forwards usually take longer to develop compared to other positions so it will take some time before our young players are good enough.
We also need a good outside midfielder(but in time we should be able to get that from Rohan).

Great post. Depressing but great. The impression I had while watching it was that the game would have been very different had we capitalised on our periods of dominance in the first and second quarters particularly. They belted us but we had their measure for much of the time. The plan was good and the execution was lousy.

We have the forwards that we need, it's just the structure of our forward line which is @@@@@@.

TDL was not in play today He could have provided some dashing runs spark at the forward to ignite the team.

Bit harsh on tdl he's only had 1 and 3/4 games. Then missed with illness. I reckon he makes a big difference to the fwd setup when he is there.
We do miss someone like Rohan. His speed would be invaluable in games like today.
