So, what is the point? Ask the bulldogs how they feel always making the prelims..and no flag since 1954...Comment

I like this forum - there is usually plenty of lively debate with lots of good ideas, quite a few stinkers, and all in all a good sense of community provided to those who love following the Swans. My rule of thumb is that I always try to be respectful to all posters, and I have extra respect to those 'older members' who have posted in excess of 1,000 times on this forum. I have never found it cliquey - there are people who have obviously become friends on here and I respect that - and I have also never been made to feel unwelcome, even when others may not agree with my point of view. It seems odd that someone who has only apparently been a member here for a couple of weeks seems to have stepped on so many toes so quickly??? It's not worth it - please keep RWO a nice place - remember we all love the Swannies!!!! Hard as that may be sometimes....Comment

It may take until mid-season to realise that we won't be in the top 4. By that time, we've probably accumulated enough wins to ensure that we can't finish bottom 4 either. Do you try to lose all your games so that you get a couple of good draft picks (but unlikely to be any of the top 5 picks), or do you continue to try and win each and every game to ensure good media coverage, good crowds and hopefully good membership numbers next year, not to mention getting experience playing in finals?
And one very simple reason that it's good to play finals - how else are you going to measure your progress unless you try your best every year? Ok, so we make week 1 in year 1, week 2 in year 2. That's progress, which is good. If you tank in Year 2 and finish 10th, how do you know whether you've progressed at all?
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Well said Jono... I have met many friends through RWO so it's an important part of my support for this great club. It boggles the mind that on Internet forums everywhere there are people who enjoy being deliberately provocative to get a reaction. I'll never get the attraction that holds for some people.

It's history buddy... do you have a rule book or crystal ball that says it will never happen again?
It was a lot longer between drinks for the Swans, than it has been for the Dogs... what's your point vanessa?Comment
