    Round 15 - Adelaide

Here's an interesting - if somewhat embarrassing - statistic about our record against the Crows.

If we beat them this Saturday night, we'll have been more successful against them overall in Adelaide than we have been in Sydney, ever since both teams started playing each other.

We surprised ourselves in Round 2 last year with a big win against them, and broke that six match losing streak (we'd only won one out of the previous ten).

I think - touch wood - we can probably win by about 2-3 goals. Touch wood!

I'm a little more enthusiatic this week. I hope I'm underestimating their performance this week. I did last week, by a lot.

We have to go in as raging favourites, with betting odds like those for Collingwood against us last week.
      Oh, hang on ...
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Adelaide have played like a bottom four side all year, they are competitive for a half and a bit then fall apart and get done by 40 points.

Victories in Adelaide are rare but really sweet when we do have them. If we don't beat them, comfortably at the final siren, then we aren't going anywhere this year.

Victories in Adelaide are nowhere near as rare as you'd think. We've played 24 matches at AAMI for 11 wins and 13 losses. Most of those wins have been against Port, but I think we can add another one against the Crows this Saturday.

Adelaide has a lot of problems at the moment & the coach is not the least of them. Neil Craig has been there a long time & looks a bit jaded, I don't think he can get much out of this bunch. He is also starting to make any excuse other than "I stuffed up" when they lose. I know the coach isn't always to blame but in this case I think they probably took him 1 year too many & that happens so now time for Adelaide to rebuild. We are a far better outfit than them & even though I am skeptical about Horse he isn't jaded & his method (when he finally settlees on one) may work but Craig is predictable.
