players to kick the ball long

I am so frustrated with the way we use the ball particularly when it is wet. Can someone tell the coach to instruct the players to kick it long even if it is too a contest rather than hand ball to the opposition. It is basic bloody football. NI ifs no buts no maybe kick it looooong!!!

Yeh, it worked pretty well last week in the dry.
Be even better in the wet.

We are not a wet weather team. I cringe evertime the forecast is rain. Look at the results Geelong, Carlton and now Adelaide. Pathetic. The weather Gods are certainly conspiring against us.

Just appalling how many stupid handpasses we make often backwards. Just try and kick it to a contest and get to the foot of the contest.

I can't believe how often they simply refused to kick it and instead went with dinky handballs which were of no benefit to them

It seems to me the players are under instructions to hand past no matter what. Why the hell they kept on hand passing is beyond my understanding. Why did Goods keep hand passing when he had a clear run?
I think all the players should spend the next week trying to kick goals .Maybe the coaching staff should have a good look at themselves. Its the same old, same old game plan every week.Get the ball turn back into trouble hand pass to the opposition, and whatever you do DON'T kick the dam football!!!!!!!

I agree. At the start of each of these games the commentators have noted "this will favour the hard bodies of the Swans."

NO IT WON"T. We don't have hard bodies...we have a young team. Commentators are @@@@.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

                Momentum

As a schoolboy playing in the wet often in Adelaide we were coached to keep the ball moving with forward momentum at all costs. Kick it long up the guts ,punch it forward ,handball it forward ,kick it off the ground forward soccer style in the wet but move it forward.

Times change, methods change ,the weather is the same.Handball backwards is suicide in the wet, forward momentum is everything. I agree with this post.
