    That's what I think also.

I thought that when "The Spang" was on at the start he was going pretty good, then I noticed he fell down a bit to easily against smaller opponents, then he injured his hammy Probably just a pass mark from me

He put himself into position to take that handpass from Goodes.
He was playing FF and was standing in the goal square, isn't that a FF position? I'm sure White, Everitt or Bevo if playing at FF could have even done that.

          Very droll, Prime Minister.

They played fairly different roles, even just comparing Jesse's forward role to Matt's. Again, hard to see from the tele- but it looked to me like Matt spent a fair bit of time playing off half forward whereas Jesse generally plays as a deep forward.

I think the suggestion that if Jesse had played the game that Matt played on Saturday night he still would have been frowned upon on here, I'd extend that to say that if he played the game that LRT played on Saturday night he'd also have been frowned on.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Well as a Full Fwd he has only manage 7 goals from 7 games.

I thought LRT was quite good.

Jesse offers more than LRT or Spanger up forward, if he stays there!!!!!!

Purely comparing their role when in the forward line, not suggesting Jesse has exclusively played there. His average TOG% is 70- Mummy's is 70%, Seaby's is 62.4% (blown out by the sub rule, obviously). As a guess he's probably spent about 15% of TOG in the ruck? Maybe more?

I should say that I was really happy to see Matt out there, and was very keen for him to do well.

I otoh was expecting rubbish and wasn't disappointed. He looked every bit a reject from the wooden spooners. Spangher the Clanger is the least ironic rhyming nickname since Hannibal the Cannibal. Let's call this experiment off.

                        Really?

Considering he hasn't played much senior football I thought he was quite good. From the telecast after his first goal the first thing he did was go to Reid and give him some instruction. Comparing him to White - he was above and beyond.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Should we not give him more than half a game before completely writing him off?

haha this crap is just getting pathetic. It's comedy gold.

white vs spangher etc after half a game of footy.

Thank god some of you don't pick our team. Less posting and more reading of Liz etc's posts for some of you. Then come back when you think outside the box a bit more.

Well done to Spanger on seizing his opportunity. And Jesse has been as much of a victim of team/AFL changes as much as himself and his own efforts. Times running out, and now due to not running a second ruckmen he is going to have to make a fist of a dual role. Hopefully as Liz has said, he is putting more effort into his rucking.

Good debut game for the Swans by Spangher. Seemed to know where to run and was a ball magnet early on.Well done and well done selectors!
