    This year's wet games - 1 win, 4 losses

    Lost to Geelong
    Lost to Carlton
Beat Richmond (by only 10 points at home)
    Lost to Adelaide
Lost to Fremantle (would have won in a fair fight, but Freo kicked six while it was raining).

    Case Closed.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

It's not just the wet we can't win on the SCG. Other than Richmond we have only won at ANZ & we played well there against Collingwood in the second half.

Weather update for non-Sydney people. We have cyclonic conditions off the coast, which means heavy showers and occasional strong winds, into early next week.

So expect another wet one Saturday. And they just announced on Twitter, ressies game moved to Blacktown.

If it has been moved to Blacktown but still scheduled for Saturday such that it will be impossible to get from the reserves game to the SCG for the senior game, I WILL NOT BE HAPPY. For all the limitations of Bus Loop Oval, at least it is right outside the SCG.

Get a lift from Henry! He's got to make it from BOP to be the bench coordinator.

I wonder if our little thread about Lakeside Oval played a part in this decision.

There won't be a lot of time, but may be doable for folks with reserved seats. For us in the Red Zone, it will be ressies and a less than ideal seat (especially if it is raining) or no ressies and our usual seats.

This rain is quite ridiculous. I feel like this whole season is passing me by without having watched a sunny game at the SCG (with a win). It's depressing.

Probably more to do with the lake side moving over the oval ... tomorrow will be Lake Oval

Seriously considered it but although it will be a quick run from BOP to end of Freeway at Burwood, you get jammed trying to get up Cleveland Street. The other option is to go past Liverpool and do the M5 run into the City.

Too much running around on wet roads.

My usual route westwards is to drive down past the airport and onto whichever motorway takes one towards Canberra (M3?). Just after the tunnel, I leave at King George's Road and drive all the way up that, via the various name changes, to the M5. Once you're on the M5, it is probably just 20 minutes or so to BOP. In the morning, the traffic would be fine, but trying to retrace that route midday, there are potential bottlenecks all along King Georges Road, sometimes through the tunnel (though it tends to be OK when you're driving east), and then when you get close to the SCG precinct along Anzac Parade. I guess you could avoid King George's Road by taking the M3 all the way to the M7 junction, and then the M7 hits the M5 at exactly the point you would have to leave the M5, so it cuts that out. You'd land up paying tolls on both the M3 and M7 though, while my normal route is free because you leave the M3 at the last exit before the toll.

But I agree, far too much running around in the wet. I'll be giving BOP a miss tomorrow.

Lets hope the drainage can cope. The rain is annoying & no we haven't played well in the rain this year. Gonna have to play in it though so I hope someone gets some inspiration & asks the boys to stop the dinky stuff today.
