I reckon his age makes a possible deal more possible, Sydney knows that if 3/4 of our young stars play to their potential they will be asking for big salaries a player like silvia could bridge the gap between then and now.

I don't follow the whole his a show pony sort of thing either i think he is a quality player and could be worth a good look.
But i do agree that i think its a ploy for a larger contract from melbourne.

the scary thing is we generally have picked up the opposite style of player in mental attitude but similar in style of play to Sylvia

Sounds to me that if he is out of contract then his manager is simply throwing the Swans name in there (a la Aker) to get a better deal at the Dees. Dont hold your breath.

Thank the footy gods that he was dead set on going to the Dogs (and he has done in more ways than one, in a rather unsavoury fashion). Always looked like a scowly angry little man, and would appear to be just that!
