Little Jamie Lawson. Fastest player ever. So sad that he was cut down by injury just as he was really turning into something special. My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment

For me it is Paul Roos and Barry Hall. I always loved watching Roos marshalling the troops from the backline. He was a very fair player and very skilled, excellent at reading the play. Big Bad was just great.Comment

I think it could be down to 6 players. Vic Belcher: Roy Cazaly: Laurie Nash: Herb Matthews: Barry Hall and Paul Roos. I saw Nash and Matthews play but only in their final year. Nash was generally regarded at the time to be the finest to have played the game. Matthews was an elite midfielder with great skills in every department. To pass the time during the Bye, let's name the best Swans player to wear #1.

Roy Cazaly, Laurie Nash from another era.
But I'd go for Hall. Closely followed by Roos.
For what it"s worth my selections would be
1 Laurie Nash
2 Paul Roos
3 Herb Matthews
4 Barry Hall
5 Vic Belcher Roy Cazaly
Perhaps these last two could even be higher up as they go back a long wayComment

Yeah I was there as well and would've been 7. Will never forget it but I guess at that stage we thought we'd see him again. Was just starting to find his feet - close to BOG the week before in a rare win against Adelade.Bloods

Up until the 1980s Nash was universally regarded as the best player to have ever played the game and for some reason everyone forgot about him.
He is noted (amongst many other things) for coming on as a reserve in a State Game against WA and casually licking 18 goals from the HFF after half time.
He was also noted for taunting his opponents on the mark when shooting for goals, asking him which foot they would like to see him kick the goal with (even when about 60m out).We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!Comment

My dad reckons he was the best he saw. Also said Jack Dyer was afraid to go near him. Said Nash was tough but fair; Dyer just a plain average dirty footballer. Reckons Dyer created his own legend.Up until the 1980s Nash was universally regarded as the best player to have ever played the game and for some reason everyone forgot about him.
