    Veszpremi Vs Everitt

An interesting article that I just discovered on Real Footy which compares the career crossroads of Vesz and Everitt.

Apologies if already posted. I know many will be interested in reading about Patty.

Love all the quotes from unnamed insiders and officials. It's like parts of this article have been written with quotes off RWO : )

    Thanks for the link!

Saw this a while ago too. Made sense to me. Think we got the better deal, but if Andrejs starts really believing in himself, and not in the R&Wers opinions he could be ok. As much as I enjoyed Patty, somehow things just don't seem to be aligning, and I don't think they will. sigh. big hug.

Thanks LK, this was published when we were out of Age range. An interesting comparison, especially for Swans and Bulldogs fans. And while I'm happy to give Andrejs time, even now I think we got the better deal.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Not sure how anyone can suggest that we got the better deal, unless both players turn things around significantly neither will be on an AFL list at the end of next year.

Everitt has been mediocre at best at AFL level

I would like to have Andrejs for several sessions of positive thinking & I think I could send you a very different player. It is a matter of believing you can do it! I think the Sports Psychologist is the bloke for him. If we have a good one they should be able to get him going.

I think Everritt is a good player but he is a confidence player & if he doesn't get a bit of it early then that is that. I think he can be changed as Teddy was in the last year & a half. Teddy admitted he had confidence issues and they were addressed & I bet he saw someone to help him & I think Everritt could do the same. He has all the attributes, such a long kick, beautiful leap & hands, pace & skill that just needs confidence.

The player swap was the last roll of the dice. I think it is pretty obvious at this stage at neither player is going to make it.

Evererit, of whom I a had seen little until his arrival at thhe swans, lacks some important qualities as a player. Has endurance and height and is a fine kick, but he is a lazy player, poor second efforts and he has major confidence issues. But his main issue is that he has no clear role to play on the field. He is a betwixer in every sense. Not strong or hard enough for a KPP not fast enough and lacks the positional awareness to be a midfielder. In years gone by, he could have credibly been called a flanker, but that position no longer exists. I think he will get another year, struggle to get game time and be cut.

As for ves, the poor bugger is simply all wrong for the modern game. Sorry kid, unless you get a miracle heart and lung transplant, you are not going to make it either.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Early days, but seems to have a bit in common with: Justin Crawford, Gary Stevens, Paul Atkins, Justin Clarkson, Ricky O'Loughlin.
